Hands down one of London's best tapas restaurants, if you fancy a date night, a catch-up with your girls, or a team dinner, this is a unique spot hidden in Borough’s Yard. The food is cooked either on the grill or in an oven, in an open kitchen for us all to see—nothing fried or deep fried.
Our waiter Joshua was lovely, very informative and accommodating to our needs! Our table was wonky so he did not hesitate to move us to be more comfortable. He explained the menu very well, it was a lot to take in but as an ex-chef, my brain was picking out what to order as he was speaking.
We ordered five different skewers; two Txistota (which was pork, similar to chorizo, two Squid, and one Lamb. Then a Green Salad without onions, Roast Potatoes, and Escalivada (Roasted peppers, onions, and aubergine with aioli & grilled bread slices).
I was very excited to find out that they had non-alcoholic Sangria!!! When I used to drink, Sangria was my favourite thing to have, I’ve never had a non-alcoholic version, pleased to say it was 10/10, made me think of being back in Barcelona, Valencia, and the Canary Islands…I’m not Spanish by the way, I just feel very connected to their culture.
My mouth is watering as I’m dreaming about the flavour combinations and textures of all the food. The squid was tender, the salad dressing was vibrant, and the escalivada was so soft and worked well on top of the crunchy bread slices with aioli. The roast potatoes were both crispy and fluffy, which is everything I look for in a good roast potato.
This should be on your London food list when visiting London, I’m going to have to...
Read moreDo not visit this place if you are hungry. The portions are absolutely Tiny and expensive.
We hadn’t booked a table and managed to get a table relatively quickly and were shown to the outdoor area. The restaurant is nicely decorated and on a nice evening is okay but it could get cold very quickly.
This place doesn’t have any toilets of its own and you have to visit the toilets next door. What kind of Resturant doesn’t have a toilet
We ordered a lot of food. 6 Starters. 8 main courses and other items, for a group of four people. It was a shame that the food didn’t arrive together because everything was so small. We also had to cook our own food on the hibachi grill which was a nice touch but made me realise that I’m paying a lot of money to cook my own food.
We ordered some drinks and the waiter rather than tell us that these drinks were not available brought completely different drinks already in glasses and said try this instead. We said no we don’t want these. He took the drinks away but these were still added to the bill.
The waitress we had was the best thing about this place. She was really nice and had a great sense of humour. She also suggested that I could get a cheesecake for us to share as it was my wife’s birthday and put a candle on the cake and came and sang happy birthday.
Overall, this is an okay establishment but it’s not okay to bring things that were not ordered to the table and then add them to the bill. This is not acceptable and I got the feeling that they were trying it on.
Also, the portion sizes are so tiny that we are off to get a kebab on...

My wife and I visited Parrillan Borough Yards for a date night, having made a reservation a week in advance and explicitly noting my severe allergy to all nuts. Upon arrival, I reiterated this allergy to our waitress to ensure there was no confusion.
Unfortunately, there was a significant breakdown in communication between the waitress and the kitchen. One of the main dishes arrived covered in finely chopped almonds, which my wife thankfully noticed before I consumed it. Her intervention likely prevented a serious health incident.
The waitress was genuinely apologetic and immediately took the dish away. She also escalated the issue to the manager, who initially offered us a round of drinks or desserts as compensation. This response felt inadequate given the severity of the situation, especially since allergens are not listed on the menu and no allergen information was provided for me to review.
Ultimately, the manager did waive our entire bill, which was appreciated, but I left with the impression that little would change in their procedures to prevent such incidents in the future. For a restaurant of this caliber, this is a serious oversight and one that could have had far worse consequences.
On a positive note, the food we did eat was excellent, and the front-of-house staff were otherwise attentive and professional. Parrillan clearly has potential, but the lack of robust allergen management is a glaring issue that needs urgent attention to ensure the safety of...
