Had lunch here one weekend in September after booking a table in their outside space. From start to finish the hosts/servers were lovely and very friendly, although I was quite surprised that none of them were wearing masks or visors. We each ordered a burger and a dessert, a cocktail and soft drinks. I chose the Truffle Shuffle burger, and the melted 'camembert' in it was delicious! I have to confess that I didn't tell my bf the restaurant was vegan, and even when he read the menu it didn't click! When the food arrived he realised the burger was veggie but he had no idea the 'blue cheese' wasn't in fact cheese till we got the menu a second time to choose our next course. It was that good! For dessert I had the coconut panna cotta with grilled pineapple. This was much more delicate and refined in both taste and presentation than I was expecting, and I loved it! My bf chose the Eton mess and it was also very yummy. This restaurant is a great addition to the neighbourhood; it has the winning combination of genuine, enthusiastic hosting and delicious food. My one quibble is I wish they had a full drinks menu which included all the options, not just the alcohol. But overall I think they've done an amazing job surviving a pandemic as a new business and adapting in these very uncertain times. I will definitely return to try other dishes once covid has died down, or maybe sooner to use their takeaway/collection service!

Gonna be honest this place was a bit of a let down for me. We got two starters and a main and the padron peppers. I overwhelmingly felt that the ingredients in the plate just didn't really suit each other and that there was too much fatty sauce used to make the dishes. The potato pave felt like it was made from potato powder, the way the polenta was made didn't really suit the Ragu (the Ragu was delicious by the way) and the Rigatoni Mushroom Nduja Ragu just felt really oily. I personally would've preferred the Ragu served with the polenta to be put on the Rigatoni instead. The prices also felt really steep for the location and the atmosphere (it's also a bar/pub and the crowd was very loud). Also wish the padron peppers didn't come covered with that much sauce, it just felt like I was eating the sauce with the pepper and not the other way round.

Thank you Peachy Goat for your hospitality, ambience and beautifully prepared food. This restaurant may have a casual bistro vibe, but the compact menu is packed with one great dish after another. My companions and I sampled and shared five main courses (some large and some small plates) all of which were excellent. Special mentions for the Aranciata, Sage and Pumpkin Tortellini, and deep fried ‘Camembert’. You really should try to leave space for a dessert, Bombolino (?) drew squeals of delight, as did the perfect STP, sticky toffee pudding. I’m pretty sure that we will return!

Have seen this place recommended a lot but was pretty disappointed. It's a fairly limited menu with only 5 mains, so I'm confused why a vegan restaurant would choose to make two of those dishes burgers with one being a beyond burger- any vegan knows that's the standard fare at any non-vegan restaurant, so it's not particularly adventurous. That isn't the reason I gave a low rating though.

The service was sloppy. The servers were friendly enough, but let us down in a couple of ways. First, they gave my friend a cup of cleaning fluid instead of hot chocolate- I'm not joking, it looked normal but as soon as she tasted it she said it tasted like washing liquid. A couple of us then tried it and confirmed it tasted like cleaning chemicals. We sent it back and they admitted they had been cleaning the machine and hadn't washed it through fully before making her drink. I understand that mistakes can happen, but they weren't particularly apologetic- just a short sorry and laughed it off when they brought a replacement. Mistake or not, it's fairly serious as it's toxic to serve cleaning chemicals to someone- they didn't offer to adjust our bill or anything, so I asked for them to remove the drink and they did (which I credit them for, though it felt awkward that I had to ask). They also ran out of stracciatella for the ragu and mentioned they would discount the price for those of us that ordered it. If we had known when they'd taken our order we might have chosen differently, so again it felt a bit sloppy that the waiter hadn't known before taking our order- it's a small restaurant and there were only two other tables occupied, so it's not like they could have had a rush on orders for that dish and have it happen suddenly. They then also forgot to discount it on our bill, so again we had to ask.

We were seated in the outdoor area which had nice vibes, and a heater to stop it from being cold even though we were outside late in the evening (8:45-10:30). The service was a little slow, but we didn't mind too much as personally I prefer that to being harassed by waiters too frequently. Again to their credit, we were their last customers of the day but they didn't try to rush us out as I've seen other reviews mention.

The food itself was nice, but expensive for what it was. Overall, unfortunately, I can't recommend this place- mainly due to the service, and a bit due...

Peachy Goat, what a delightful little find nestled right by the station in Herne Hill. It's not the sort of place where you'll be served haute cuisine with a side of pretension, but rather, it's a charming, unassuming spot that knows exactly what it is and does it well.

The ambiance? Think of it as your favorite neighborhood hangout, but with just enough flair to make it feel like a proper evening out. We dined as two adult couples and immediately warmed to the place—it’s quaint, comfortable, and there's a certain unpolished charm that feels refreshingly honest.

Now, let’s talk food. We didn’t venture into the mains, but the starters were quite the treat! Delicious, uncomplicated, and bursting with flavor. It’s not Michelin-star stuff, but honestly, who needs that when you’ve got plates like these? The kitchen knows its way around good ingredients, and it shows.

For those who enjoy a tipple, the lager and IPA on tap are cracking good choices. Both are well worth a try—perfect for quenching your thirst and easing into the evening. The service? Absolutely spot on—attentive without being overbearing, the sort of service that makes you feel well looked after.

What makes Peachy Goat stand out is its ability to strike a balance—neither too posh nor too grubby. There are outdoor tables and benches, perfect for a breezy evening. It’s a place that understands its local crowd—regulars who appreciate a good meal in a relaxed setting without the commotion of a gastropub or the airs of a high-end restaurant.

So, if you find yourself in Herne Hill and fancy something a bit special without the need to dress to the nines, give Peachy Goat a whirl. It’s a little vegan gem that’s comfortable in its own skin, and quite frankly, that’s exactly what we...

Was hoping for a quiet drink and conversation with a friend. Not quite knowing if it were a bar or restaurant (kind of looked a bit like both) we chanced it. Walked up to the bar and asked if it would be ok to just have a drink. The (strange) response was we could have booze (cocktails, beer, that sort of thing) or food. I then clarified and asked again if we could just have a drink. The response was the same with the additional information that we couldn't have a soft drink. Thinking that a bit strange I then asked what if someone was a recovering alcoholic to which there was no response, only that since they opened it was their policy to only serve food or alcohol. Say what? As a only very occasional drinker I certainly then felt forced to drink alcohol, which I wasn't prepared to do. My friend would quite happily have had an alcoholic drink. I then peeked at the food menu and asked if I could order a small snack instead. To which the answer was their kitchen was closed. You cannot make this up. There was a large table free and a smaller one. He could have served one alcoholic, one non alcoholic drink (some places have fantastic mocktail menus), made a bit of extra cash, have 2 happy and possibly returning customers. But their "policy". Well in this day and age it seems policy prevails over customer service or any sense of business savvy. I will certainly not be back. As a matter of principle. He can...
