If you're a non-vegetarian/vegan, feel free to skip this review.
This afternoon, my partner and I decided to try out this place for lunch. Our first impression was positive as we were welcomed by a nice interior decor, a relaxed environment with a small lunch crowd, and some decent background music.
The menu in the window outside promised good vegetarian/vegan options. However, upon browsing the actual menu inside, we found that the falafel wrap was marked out in Tipp-ex. We also noticed that a few dishes, previously labeled as vegan, had this distinction removed. This created some confusion and made the menu less straightforward to navigate.
For starter I chose the falafel and hummus, which turned out to be a delightful pick. It was served with fresh, delicious bread and was a perfect portion for sharing with my partner. Unfortunately, the main course selection proved to be more challenging due to the mentioned discrepancies.
One dish that usually catches my eye is a Vegan Burger, although perhaps not in a Mediterranean restaurant. The menu only listed it as a 'Vegan Burger', however, without any further description. Inquiring about the ingredients of the patty, the waiter was unsure so went to ask a colleague. After a couple of minutes, another staff member elaborated that it was a soy/wheat-based patty, a popular meat substitute.
Despite my reservations, I chose the Vegan Burger, which, in hindsight, was a bad choice considering the restaurant's overall style. The presentation of the burger was laughable, it resembled a child's meal from a roadside cafe. I would have been embarrassed to serve that to anyone even in my own home. If a restaurant decides to offer vegan options, they should ensure they meet the same high standards as their other dishes.
My specific critique for the vegan burger is that it was garnished with only half a slice of tomato and a skimpy amount of lettuce. To top it off, the patty was rather dry. Thankfully, the burger was accompanied by decent chips and ketchup, which provided some saving grace.
It was though, the worst Burger I've had in many years.
My suggestion would be to either improve or altogether eliminate the vegan burger from the menu, ensuring that every dish served reflects the overall quality that the restaurant aims to offer.
We also had a bottle of the house White Wine - a Spanish Chardonnay/Airén, which was very enjoyable.
Make the veggie options on the menu more clear and this restaurant will be a...
Read moreHorrible customer service. Had booked my twin girls 1st birthday party 2 months in advance. I clearly explained to the menager that it will be 30 people (maybe 35) and he said no problem at all. He said you can do it here or you can choose the basement, which I choose it to do it on the ground floor. It wasnât quite busy two months back but as it got busier during summer why not squish me and my family on that horrible basement and keep the area up for the other costumers , double the money noo? The stress and worry they made me go through is unimaginable while I had sent the invitation and everything. Luckily I found another much more better place with outstanding customer service than this so called high rated restaurant. On top of that one of the guys working there offended me on turkish language calling me âmaniakâwhich means crazy just because I wasnât agreeing on their profitable plan. Another thing worth mentioning is , on the day of the booking they didnât had any other booking except mine. Went there a week ago just to double check with them, so far so good. But yesterday magically all the restaurants was booked đ. Avoid at any cost especially if itâs an occasion and thereâs people invited. They only accept 5 stars review . If anyone is unhappy with their food, service ect , their management team calls them liar and manipulates the situation on their behalf. Be minded of a woman working there, keeps a smile on while messing with your nerves around Just because itâs busy doesnât give you the right to play with people. Wasted my precious time.
PS : these ppl keep writing âpolitely â đ after my review , what you did to me itâs done now you canât undo it. Just do your job and respect costumers no matter how much in demand is your useless restaurant, there are many others better. And stop LYING for god sake . I have NEVER NEVER said I have more than 40 pplđ. Now Iâm so glad you did what you shouldâve done so my precious girls will have an wonderful party away from your horrible , ungrateful staff. I suggest the owner to invest more in...
Read moreWent for a birthday dinner with two friends yesterday, I will start by saying that the food was delicious and quick to come out once we were finally able to order, zero issues with the chef, we all enjoyed our food! The service however was terrible. My friend booked a table for 3 at 7.30pm. There was not a table ready for us when we arrived despite the booking, we were sat at an unset table and given some menus. No one came to take a drinks order let alone a food order for over 30 mins after we had been seated. When we did order it was after we had managed to flag a member of staff down, we mentioned weâd been there for 35 mins but didnât even get an apology. They took our drinks order and food order and the drinks came out only about 2 mins before the food. One person had just ordered a Coke, but when delivered they put it in front of her and then rudely said âIs this right, did you want Diet Coke?â To which she replied that no she ordered regular because she doesnât like Diet Coke. It felt a bit pointed and uncomfortable. The other two drinks were a mocktail and a margarita, which were ok, but not on par with many others on the high street, we also asked for water, which never came. The food came out and was delicious, but we couldnât tuck in straight away as still had no cutlery, they did get some fairly quickly though. One friend finished her food before myself and our other friend and they tried to clear our all out plates before we had finished eating, this time they did apologise though. Once we had finished some slightly off handed comments were made about if we were sure we didnât need to eat more, it felt quite prickly rather than jokey. They also cleared our glasses but dashed off before we could order any more drinks. We then sat for another 45 mins with no one asking if we would like another drink or dessert. It again took a while to flag someone down so we could just get the bill and leave. We were all really disappointed with...
