The Lokanta — Restaurant in London

The place looks lovely, I have been planning to come here for ages. It was mine and my partners anniversary, I have never written a review before because I work in hospitality and I fully understand that things cannot always be up to an okay standard. The food was nice, except from my lamb shank, the taste was bland and the presentation was horrible, but non of that would’ve been a problem if it wasn’t for the staff. After calling the waitress over to let her know that we are done with the food we have decided to make the day a bit better with some limoncello, when asking the waitress she replied they do not do anything like that (I was personally able to see from my table 4 bottles being displayed at the bar), but we said no problem and I had to get up to pay the bill because the waitress was not interested at all. After spending £120 (which I assume included service as well that I never received) that’s when the waitress herself mentioned that I have left the whole plate of food and asked if something was wrong with it, I replied that I’m very sorry but I really did not like the lamb shank - not that I expected anything from that statement as the bill was paid and I personally did not bother to complain because nobody checked back on us, but what was outrageous is that I didn’t even get an apology. Again, at that point we were so outraged but in a funny way - I personally stood up and went to the bar area to ask for the limoncello - and paid with the waitress who claimed they didn’t have any. £140 for an hour of the worst service I have ever received, won’t return and I suggest nobody with a special occasion does either as much as lovely the...

Mother’s Day 25

31/3 2nd visit reduced from 5* to 3*. 4/6 of us arrived on time, it was quick to get menu’s but trying to get drinks order taken took 25 mins and I walked up to staff station to get some attention. The Pimms Spritz was weak..you could not taste pimms…they didn’t offer any fresh juices, and just twinnings style tea’s…

Then when we eventually placed food order the delay between starter (just a couple of flatbread & hummus) was long, I even started clearing the table staff were not attentive! The mains came eventually, my vegan stew was too oily, making it hard to enjoy. The wait to get staff to clear tables again too long so I started scraping plates down and piling them up …then the staff came to finish.

There was no checking in to see if food was ok, if we needed more drinks..so poor. When the table was cleared we ordered another drink but asked for two plates of Baklava at the same time as we had only 30 mins left on our 2.5 hour allocated reservation….the drink came but no Baklava and after 30 mins my husband settled the bill and cancelled Baklava. The bill (close to £300) must have included service charge and I personally would have refused to have paid that! So lucky for them I didn’t see the bill.

All in all, the family enjoyed time together for Mother’s Day, would we ever return or recommend…absolutely no chance!

We booked the upstairs private dining area for my grandsons 16th birthday. The restaurant decor is very nice but unfortunately that’s where the good ends! We arrived at 7pm and at 8:45 we were still asking where is our food! Bear in mind this was a Tuesday evening and the restaurant downstairs was not busy at all! The staff were argumentative and made excuse after excuse! When the food finally arrived it was luke warm…..I can’t comment on everyone’s food (party of 20) but mine was flavourless (I had the prawn main)……thank god for salt and pepper! Overall a very underwhelming experience and I would not book here again! Pera across the road is 100% better! I will add that there was no service charge added on our bill of £700+ but I think that’s probably because I told the staff we wouldn’t be paying it! In response to your reply Firstly, our orders were taken at 7:45 NOT 8:30…..I went outside the restaurant after placing my order and made a phone call which is logged at 7:51! Yet again, excuses! Yes a couple of the guests ordered later but the majority of the party were there at 7!
