I visited a Pizza Express today for the first time as I was accompanying my friend to her interview, as we entered we were greeted by friendly staff and were given a table, a waitress then came by later and asked what we were having, I am Vegetarian, so I was stuck thinking about what to get, the waitress started introducing the different options to me and then surprised me by notifying me that there was a specific "Vegan" Menu available which I never knew.
The waitress was really lovely and accommodating and even when I asked if I could keep the Menu's and started taking pictures of the items she was being really helpful and also spoke to me about the lighting. I would say that the waitress actually gave me the best service I have ever had at a restaurant to date. Even when I called her back to ask whether I can add another item to the order she happily obliged and kindly took my extra order and notified the chef.
When I asked the Manager at the end if it was alright for me to take pictures of the place for this review, he was really accommodating, one picture is of one of the chef's there spreading the 'sunshine', really loved the experience there, would go again for it.
The restaurant was a modern open plan establishment with friendly staff and a welcoming aura, it was bright and cheerful which really contrasted with the gloomy rainy outdoors at the time of my visit. The Chef's area is situated right in the centre of the room which adds an additional brilliance as you can see them working with gusto and enthusiasm.
The Pizza I bought was the: Classic Style "Sloppy Vegan", it came quite fast, and I was given a pizza wheel to cut the pizza, that was my first time being asked to cut the pizza myself and it was a refreshing experience, really enjoyed it. The pizza was scrumptious, though next time I will try one of the Romana Pizza's for another new experience.
I also got the "Hot Jalapeno Dough Balls", these were delicious, my friend recommended me to buy these and it was worth it. They came with a spicy dip as well as being drizzled in some, the chilly wasn't overwhelming and quite tasty.
In the end the price came to £19.75, however we ended up being so satisfied with the service we decided to leave a £10 tip behind. Really enjoyed the experience here. Would...
Read moreSo for some background, I had a complete nightmare with Tenpin bowling just down the road as after booking and paying for a party, they informed me just a few days before that they couldn’t provide one of our coeliac children with any gluten free food. I needed to find an alternate place that could fit us all in quickly and it was a large crowd. I read online that Pizza Express was coeliac accredited - so thought I’d call and see if it was possible to at least feed the kids. I spoke with Myron over the phone - wow what a kind understanding man! Nothing was too much trouble at all, he got us a booking that could accommodate adults and kids - he made me feel at complete ease regarding the gluten free element too. Upon arrival, Myron had set us up a beautiful area at the back, plenty of space for everyone. Our waitresses Paulina and Nillu were outstanding, happy, bubbly, great with all the kids - so on point with the gluten free element. I’ve never seen a waitress order for so many kids that fast haha, Paulina deserves a medal for that alone!
The food all came out with exceptional precision, all at the same time so none of the kids were left waiting - the food was also delicious, every child cleared all 3 courses. The adult food was fabulous, so fresh and tasty! Every member of staff in the whole place has such a friendly warm personality, there is a really good vibe and energy here. A huge thank you to the pizza chef too who was making all of the dough with lots of little eyes watching fascinated at he’s skills!
Honestly, I’m so glad the bowling alley couldn’t accommodate us dietary wise as we had such a fabulous time here after the games instead! You aren’t rushed at all, staff are really clued up about dietary needs so you can relax and enjoy. We will 1000% be returning. The price for 3 courses for each child is really good, lots of choices, if you are looking for somewhere that ticks all the boxes food and atmosphere wise - I’d highly recommend this place! When compared to the bowling alley food prices too, this is so much better value for money and a high standard hands down.
Clean, pleasant place with outstanding staff, exceptional with kids and a kind caring manager that genuinely cares about all of the customers. Thank you so much for...
Read moreAttended on Sat 5th Aug for my childs birthday, we booked for the kids pizza making package for 9 children. The description on the website states the following "Our party host will have your little ones tossing their very own dough before being let loose on the ingredients. Expect a lively combination of pizza making fun with games to keep everyone happy." I also visited the restaurant the day before and confirmed with the staff that there would be games on the day and colouring pencils. However I can confirm there were no dough tossing and neither were there any games for the kids. The pizzas already came shaped and pre made with tomatoe paste already on it, all the kids were expected to do was load the toppings on to it. There were also no games in between courses, the kids were just left sitting there and were not even given colouring pencils to keep entertained, had I been told there were not going to be any games I would have brought my own or booked somewhere else for my daughters birthday party, instead the kids had to entertain themselves with the balloons I brought with me. I asked a member of staff on the day about the games and she said she would speak to her colleague but never got back to me, I also sent an email following the event and received no response. It seems after the event ended they weren't interested in knowing anymore. All in all the staff on the day were fine and the service was not bad however I would not chose to come here for a kids birthday party again as I don't think it...
