PizzaExpress — Restaurant in London

I visited this Pizza Express 2 weeks ago with some friends and we opted for the pizza making course which allows your group to all make pizzas together and then eat the finished products, along with some drinks, appetizers and sides. I'm writing this review to explicitly thank the staff which took care of us that night, Sergiu and Gejsy!

For chains such as Pizza Express, I feel there's not much point commenting on the quality of the food itself, as I'm sure you will know to some extent that if you visit, you'll get classic Pizza Express cuisine. That is, quality pizza with super fresh ingredients for a reasonable price, along with some very tempting appetizers and decent desserts. So I will spare the details on the food itself. In fact, I'll say everything from the atmosphere to the food was great, as expected - no complaints at all.

I would like to comment further on the service however. Especially from Sergiu and Gejsy who were in charge of taking care of my group for that pizza making session. I truly think they made the night very special; they were absolutely exceptional with us, making us laugh and smile throughout the night, while also making sure they upheld superb service standards. Sergiu made sure we got every course promptly, was always there when we needed one extra drink or oil. He was also very friendly and really set the tone so well for the evening. Gejsy was in charge of showing us how to make the pizzas and was clearly very skilled, throwing dough into the air and catching it, while also being able to supervise our group when we tried to do the same, with much less experience. All of our pizzas came out perfectly and promptly, even with some of our special requests to make our pizzas into Fiorentina pizzas (with an egg in the middle).

I will absolutely be coming to Pizza Express again to do the same pizza making session with other groups too as I had such a great time and I thought it was good value for money, too. Quality of the food was fine. Not haute cuisine but good. Nearby Tower Bridge. Arrived just after noon with our family of seven. An older lady told is if we wait for one minute she would have a table for 6 which we can use with our family. Fine no problem. Thankfull for her offer because with a group of seven difficult to find a place. Table being set by other personel. They arranged an extra spot at the topside of the table. Lady that helped us at the entrance came towards us and spoke quiet loud and impolite and disrespectfull towards our son he should not sit there. I told you not to sit there she almost screamed! Excuse me!!! Totally flabbergasted by her distrespectfull attitude towards us as cliënts. Even when our son and my husband told her our son was seated there by their personel she continued till I had enough and told her in a very clear way she should not show this behaviour. Extremely poor quality of service and food. We waited 25 minutes to give our order even though there was only couple of table were with customer. The gentleman took our order and which was simple enough( one margarita pizza from kids menu, 2 large margarita for me and my older son and one cannanoli for my husband). It turns up that 2 amazingly thin base pizza( I wish I could take a photo to show everyone how thin it was)one slightly ticker base pizza but smaller in the size for my husband and kids pizza). We told the lady we did not order one of the pizza and it was cannanoli she said sorry and bring to right order also she told us that she's going to correct that mistake on the bill. My little son's kids meal supposed to come garlic balls and later on ice cream and bambinicino but until we ask them they did not bring any garlic balls or ice cream and bambinicino was still missing. We paid our bill and left than we realised that they charged us the pizza we did not even have. And large pizza was £9.99 in the menu they charged us £12.00 each pizza.
