Giving this 2 stars as the staff were awful. I’ve never experienced a waiter and waitress do disengaged with their customers. I have eaten in many pizza Express restaurants over the years and the staff are always really good and helpful. It started with the waitress just pointed to an area with a few tables. When we picked from this area of tables and sat down there was then an issue with the specific table we picked as she needed the table back 2 hours later. We stayed where we were but she did not appear to be happy. Let me point out that in the entire restaurant there was only 2 other tables being used. Then there was no politeness in taking our order. An issue with the fact that we hadn’t finished our starter when the mains arrived. Let me just point out that neither myself or my boyfriend are slow eaters and we had one started to share. The pizza we ordered was really good, couldn’t not fault the food at all. Then we had been given a voucher code to use and the next waiter who was giving us the bill made it seems like a total hassle to explain why it wasn’t suitable. I have no issue that the voucher was not to be used on a Saturday but the throwing the eyes to heaven and the lack of explanation and when I asked for one he seemed really irritated. It’s not hard to be nice and polite to customers. It is part of the job. Over all great food but the staff leave a lot to be desired. Would not go again for this reason as I could go a further 5 min walk down to the O2 Centre pizza Express and know I will get really...
Read moreSadly a very bad experience. I was served lasagne instead of the melanzane I had ordered. When it was served it looked identical to a typical serving of melanzane. It was perfectly presented and my wife even wanted to share it because it looked so good. She actually said that she now wished she had ordered the melanzane too. I tucked in and it tasted good too. Problem, I ordered it partly because I really like aubergine cooked that way but fundamentally because it is one of the few things on the menu that is gluten free and I cannot tolerate gluten. Obviously lasagne is pasta and I can't tolerate pasta because of that. Plus I have seen lasagne loads of times and it never ever gets served looking like melanzane parmigiana. Outcome is that it has made me significantly ill and it could take me 4 to 5 years for my small intestine to recover. All kinds of strange symptoms follow on from the leaky gut gluten leaves you with if you can't tolerate it. Headaches, brain fog, consequences of bacteria getting through the damaged small intestine. Serving lasagne dressed up as melanzane parmigiana can lead to someone's death and misery on the way there. ...
Read moreI went here for dinner last night and I was really disappointed with the service. Firstly we waited at the door for too long to be acknowledged and seated. If after making eye contact a few times the servers continued doing other things. Once we ordered the dough balls were brought out pretty quickly but then we just sat around waiting for far too long for our mains to come out. After the mains, we had to ask for where our side was as that still had not arrived either. The restaurant was more than half empty but it appeared they were focusing a lot of time on deliver orders as the manager seemed to be fully focused on that the whole evening. We didn't have anyone come over to ask how our meal was or if we wanted dessert - we actually did but couldn't be bothered to wait any longer. I would suggest that customer service is addressed and made more attentive urgently. Overall, the food was actually quite good - pizza could have had more sauce and cheese; except I probably would not have the Halloumi pieces again as very small portion and they were a bit mash potato like and they just come with pizza sauce and could actually do with a little...
