PizzaExpress — Restaurant in London

I went to the pizza express in Camden town with a 2 for 1 main discount order. I told the manager beforehand about me having the code and is it alright to use it in that store and what items does mean I can get from the menu. And the manager told me it's all fine and showed me which items the discount includes. But after eating the food the manager refuses to let us use the code. Cause apparently it hasn't been working in that store all day. So why didn't they tell me that beforehand when they knew I only came to that store because I thought I was getting the discount. I downloaded another code to see if that one works instead but they refused to enter that one at all. Then they forced me to pay. I demanded a refund but he kept making up different reasons for not giving us a refund. First he said the system doesn't let them do refund at all. Like what??? I work in retail I know that literally not true. Then he tried guilt tripping me and said "but how will I explain this to my manager". But when earlier I asked him to bring his manager he claimed he doesn't have one. And lastly he claimed there's no cash in the till at all to do a refund. And I said well do it by card then since I literally paid by card. Bare in mind this was all done by one manager so it wasn't like he wasn't aware that he was lying to us. Wasted 20 minutes of my time refusing to do the right thing. All the servers switch on me and my 9 year old brother and were saying things like "move you're in our way" to my brother really rudely. Service was beyond awful. We had booked for 18:45PM were ignored for 45 mins after being seated, we asked after 25 mins if we could place our order then it took another 20mins before the he finally came to us. In this time the waiter sat and took two other tables & took their orders - making us late for our show at the roundhouse. I could understand if the restaurant was packed but it was barely busy with three waiters on. When the food finally come we ate then it was impossible to pay. He asked us to come Upstairs to pay when we were ready which was fine however when we came up we had to wait at the counter for 15 mins to pay the check. The Manger was just stood staring at us doing nothing. No one acknowledge we were waiting and that they would be with us in a min. The entire evening was a joke. We then started to walk out cause no one would take our payment. Suddenly they wanted to take our payment and had the cheek to ask if we wanted to leave a tip for the service. Will not...

Really disappointed with our visit here. It was suppose to be a birthday treat after a trip to the zoo. I had exchanged Tescos vouchers totalling £75 for food. On arrival we checked with our waitress that they were ok to use and redeemed against the £17.95 for 3 courses and were told it was fine. When we paid our waitress had left and we were told we could only use one. This was really embarrassing and awkward, we ordered based on the info provided by the waitress and would only have had 2 courses had we been advised correctly. So it ended up costing us £71 instead of £16.50. This completely ruined the visit, my birthday and now I have vouchers that will only cover the cost of half a meal (probably won’t ever return to a pizza express now though) Feel completely ripped off, I could understand if we hadn’t checked but I made sure i did before we ordered and did everything right.
