Went to laz@camden based on the generally good reviews and usually Turkish restaurants are always good as a general rule its quite difficult to go wrong with Turkish mixed grills and the traditionally loved meat and fish dishes with rice etc. The Decor and seating:

The decor and seating was Lovely and intimate for small or large groups with a nice ambience, definately family freindly and group freindly in that regard, suitable for celebrations or casual get togethers.

Accommodation relating to service equipment etc: The menus we were given were not laminated and many of them had food stains on them which was unhygienic and not a comforting experience before your about to eat I got their before anyone else from our large group of 19 had arrived Nd I asked them if they could change out the menus which the waiter then politely informed me that she checked but that was all they had available. During the service cutterly was remove from tables in between starters and mains but not replaced, I personally ended up borrowing the fork and knife of a relative besides me

Service: Thmanager of the restaurant who was essentially running servic alongside the two waiters who were assisting the other smaller minority of the restaurant to a larger exstent than our group and a couple other amaller groups who was mainly served by the main manager however on the vouple of ovcasions where the waiters did interact with our table they were very polite polite, fairly sharp and very responsive. The main manager did present alot of problems in the manner of his service; as I saw through the service from 7 to 10 pm from beginning to end he would half gently going menus onto not just our tables but also other tables instead of handing them to people which is pretty non explanatory as to why doing such a thing is unprofessional, bad practice and also rude especially when done on multiple occasions. He removed removed side items from the table before people had ginished with them essentially taking food that people had payed for from the table and without asking if they'd finished on several occasions to the point where due to the fact of the frequency of this and with the other issues people on the table stopped even enquiring for rectifications of issues. Cutlery was removed from tables with cleared dishes without being replaced between meals for some people myself included so I ended up borrowing a falk from someone besides me because I decided to stop enquiring for rectification of certain problembs because it had gotten very bad. On a few occasions the wrong side orders were given to the wrong people/were mixed up by accident; a genuine mistake but the manager was not very hospital in his reaction and was very brash in his movements and responses. The bread which was paid for wasn't served with the hummus as we were told it would be and at certain times the manager would ignore people after listening to their request ; he would look at them then kind of wave his hand a tad in dismissal then 90% of the time he'd come back a minute or so later and these por service responses made up 60 or more percent of the service interactions with him. The food: The chips were very very salty, not one person finished their chips for one of my orders with chips, the chips was abruptly removed from my side plate without asking but I didn't say anything as it was later in the night and I had kind of given up on a good service also they were so salty I definately wouldn't have eaten many more to be honest. The dishes with rice: The rice was plain basaltic with no seasoning and no sauce instead it was rice that had butter and salt mixed with it which was not nice as tge people who had that rice either didn't eat any more after the first 3 or 4 falks or wer dissaapointed as in Turkish restaurant rice is usually at the very east well seasoned and flavourful. Tge meat; The meat was not seasoned at all pretty much every one across the table complained amongst themselves in addition to sending back raw meat 3 times (This is the character limit...

Laz @ Camden is a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Camden Town, offering an authentic Turkish dining experience that delights all the senses. From the moment you step inside, the warm and inviting atmosphere, complemented by soft Turkish music, provides a cozy escape from the bustling streets outside.

The menu is a testament to traditional Turkish cuisine, featuring a diverse selection of mezze platters and succulent kebabs, all prepared using time-honored methods that highlight the rich and nuanced flavors inherent to the region. Standout dishes include the octopus salad and lamb shish, each bursting with vibrant tastes that transport you straight to Istanbul. The homemade crusty bread, with its delightful smoky aroma, pairs perfectly with these hearty offerings. Dessert enthusiasts will find the künefe and baklava to be sweet finales that showcase the kitchen’s finesse.

Service at Laz @ Camden is notably attentive, with staff ensuring that every guest’s needs are met promptly, enhancing the overall dining experience. On select evenings, live music elevates the ambiance, making each visit not just a meal, but a memorable event.

Whether you’re seeking a romantic dinner, a family gathering, or a night out with friends, Laz @ Camden offers a multifaceted experience that transcends ordinary dining. It’s a place where authentic flavors, exceptional service, and a vibrant atmosphere converge to create an unforgettable...

I don't usually leave reviews but after the service I received at this restaurant I feel like I need to.

Food is amazing, but the service of one gentleman was awful. I look fairly young so people assume I must be somewhere in my late teens/early 20s, which is fair enough but no excuse to treat someone in a disrespectful manner.

Very rude staff when I decided to take my leftovers home. Was asked rudely if I was sure I would want 'only that' home as I had two chicken wings left in my plate. I don't waste food so yes only that. When I got home I found chicken bones packed in my box as well, that's not acceptable.

On top of that, when paying, the gentleman snatched the card from my hand and tapped it without asking, threw the receipt on the table and didn't give it to me until I asked for it.

Other staff members were lovely but this one particular gentleman was incredibly rude. I work in customer service myself and I understand that at the end of a long day on a Friday evening you might not want to be there but that is no excuse not to be polite.

Left feeling awful, not coming back ever again despite the food being amazing. Be kind people, takes nothing. You never know what someone might be going through or how their day has been, really no need for this kind...

Located in the heart of Camden, among the profusion of Mondial cuisines on Parkway exists a Turkish delight of a restaurant. The laid back vibe is complimented by a choice of indoor or outdoor seating upon entry. I went on a Sunday with friends from Brazil who have a penchant for lamb dishes, and the restaurant did not disappoint. There are a plethora of lamb dishes available, with the lamb chops top choice. I myself preferred the chicken shish which was charred to perfection. The portions were a generous size with salad and rice to compliment. The restaurant also offers decent seafood choices with the prawns offering decent flavour. The price of around £20 for a main course was very reasonable given the location. Only disappointment were the fries which tasted like McCain's that have been left too long in the freezer then cooked. The desert was my favourite part of the meal, with Triliçe a definite choice. The staff were pleasant and courteous and looked after us well, answered every request without hesitation even though it was late and we were the last to leave. I doubt I'd make the trip just to eat here, but you are in the Camden area and fancy a Turkish, I'd recommend.

We visited Laz in Camden and, at first, everything seemed lovely. The restaurant itself is small, warm, and very welcoming. The environment feels cosy and inviting, the mezes and sides were delicious, the drinks were great, and the live music was okay — it added a nice atmosphere to the evening. However, our experience was unfortunately spoiled by the service. The older waiter kept coming back and forth to our table, repeatedly trying to push us to order more food even though we already had plenty of mezes and sides. He told us that if we didn’t order mains, we would be charged £50 per person — something that wasn’t mentioned anywhere on the menu or by anyone else. In the end, they didn’t actually charge us that amount, so it was clearly false information used to pressure us into ordering more. This made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, and we decided to leave. It’s a shame, because the food and atmosphere were both really nice, but the service left a very negative impression.

Going simply based on ambiance this restaurant looks and feels amazing, I have not rated here as yet so I won’t pretend to know about the quality of the food, but the look and feel of this place is lovely. I’ve been in here on several occasions and the feel is always the same so it’s one of the places I plan to sit and eat in. It’s situated only around a five minute walk from Camden station so it’s easy to get to, parking is possible just outside in paid bays. The inside is beautifully decorated and looks like a place your date would be impressed with for sure, my next mission is to try the food, it has a very impressive bar at the back of the restaurant and the cooking is done in the basement area. The staff are polite and friendly and one in particular has been there for years so you have degree of consistency. On this review it’s mainly photos of the venue as opposed to comments about the food so please let me know of your experience.
