Came here for a late lunch on Sunday as have been before and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Unfortunately today the service was quite poor considering we arrived on time for the booking. Waited over half an hour but appreciated the apology. Would have been nice to have been communicated what the delay was and that they had overbooked. When entering there were large groups of people (around two tables of 12) both very noisy and this had an impact on the noise levels. Unable to hear music and often having to speak louder. The staff were not attentive to taking our order, providing our drinks in a timely manner and checking all was okay. To only have one meal and to have been there for over 2 and a half hours (most of that was waiting) was disappointing. The food was okay, burger fell apart whilst trying to eat it so not put together very well. Sunday lunch meal was quite fatty so unable to finish it. We removed the service charge due to the waiting times and the staff not being attentive. The fact they were quick to remove it goes to show that they knew the service was not particularly great. Shame as have enjoyed being here on other days. Just felt too busy. Booked well in advance and there was no communication that there would have been an issue. Would have happily gone elsewhere. Tables were also close together, felt uncomfortable and closed in, not particularly spacious seating. Made a special request for seating, this was not honoured despite booking being accepted and no mention. Despite this, hoping it was a one off experience.

Absolutely first class attentive service so much so they noticed my dining partner had used his napkin for his nose so they replaced it asap! The staff are attentive and have the decorum of staff at more expensive restaurants and they seem to really enjoy working at Q Bar. The place has a relaxed vibe, a really reasonably priced menu, food made with good fresh ingredients, well presented staff and beautiful surroundings. So much effort and love has clearly been put into Q Bar with its unique phone box toilet entry and floral/leafy decor with big rustic farm house tables throughout. It is one of those places that looks suited to so many uses and yet it is coherent in its presentation. I think you could hire this place for many events, including weddings, you could come for a birthday, drinks with the girls or romance. The food was outstanding and I am surprised at the price which was incredibly reasonable. I had the Peri Peri chicken which was full of different flavours of spices as was the accompanying salad. Our desert was a gooey, fudgy cake that was spectacularly light given its fudgy content. My cocktail, a Moulin Rouge was presented very well and extremely moreish. Top marks to the staff here for caring about my nut allergy and noticing we needed more napkins and providing them. We will most definitely be back. Thank you.

We often choose this restaurant for it’s quite warm atmosphere and their taste meals !when we visited the staff tried to accommodate us in the best way they could as they were already nearly fully booked. Most of the things we ordered were nice except of the shrimp dish that tasted horrible and the food seemed to have a taste as if the shrimps were not good. We had to return the dish back and they didn’t charge us for it but I was very disappointed with what happened as you can easily get sick if you eat seafood that is either off (the way it tasted) or not well cooked !!plus they didn’t really care for the complaint I instantly made for that particular order. I felt as a customer they didn’t really give the proper attention to that matter because they ve been busy which is not really nice for a regular customer!

I have just had a horrendous experience at the Q bar. I live within walking distance from the restaurant but have not eaten there for around nine months. It used to be a good place to eat but over the years, to its credit it has become extremely busy and I believe it has become a victim of its own success. It was obvious on arrival that they did not have a record of my booking and we were duly sat at the bar. The senior gentleman behind the bar appeared to take a dislike to us straight away, I don't know if it was because the wife of our two guests was Turkish by understand from her that he was abusive. I ordered a bottle of wine which was meant to accompany the meal. However, this rude gentlemen then poured the complete bottle into our glasses and only three of us were drinking wine! After waiting forty five minutes we were shown to our table and therefore because of the long wait had to order more drinks. The waiting staff were great but I have to say I had the worse mousaka of my life, it had no salad or vegetable side dish and was swimming in what tasted like an over salted tomato soup! £140 later we all agreed the evening was a complete disaster, needless to say I will not be returning but with their managements attitude, I don't suppose they would care. So if your looking for a buzzy atmosphere and want to get plastered then go to the Q bar but if you are looking for polite service and good food that's value for money then there are plenty of other restaurants in Beckenham that will happily...
