Big Catch — Restaurant in London

13 April 2023. This is my second time in this shop. The fish I just had was good - exactly the reason why I came back, but the service I received this evening was bad. The lady at the counter (facing the customers) taking take-away orders and dispatching customer orders was not nice. I could sense how people treat me, and I, definitely, could feel from the moment I ordered my drinks (5:45pm) to the time I was telling this staff not to give me too much chips, down to when I was asking for serviettes (5:54pm) that I was treated rudely and mean! Her voice intonations, her facial expression and her gestures showed that she was not happy to answer my questions about the drinks, and me wondering if I got serviettes in my paper bag- the reason why I asked (I only got one thin piece, by the way).

This attitude of staff towards me - a Big Catch customer was unacceptable! I will never waste my time writing my review here if my experience was very delightful.

This place takes humble fish 'n chips to another level. I'm not usually one for English classics, but the fish and chips from Big Catch have completely changed my mind—proving that even simple classics can be extraordinary. The freshness of the ingredients, coupled with their unique twist on the meal, is simply outstanding.

The staff were incredibly friendly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the cleanliness of the place really stood out. It’s a real shame that it’s so far from where I live because I’d be there much more often if I could. Big Catch feels like a high-end spot, but without the hefty price tag. I can't recommend it enough—it's a special place that everyone should try....

We were looking forward to eating here as we had heard good reviews but unfortunately they didn't live up to expectations. We ordered starters, 3 if us ordered the scallops. When they arrived 2 of the plates had 3 scallops, and one only had 2. When we questioned this the chef said it was because they were bigger - they weren't. None were particularly big in size for the price of the starter. The lady who was serving us was so embarrassed she offered us a free drink on the house. Overall we thought for what we got it was overpriced. I must say that the lady serving us was very nice. Unfortunately later that night, the 3 of us that had scallops were all ill with upset stomachs. We wont be...
