We did not eat at your restaurant but in Soho were you've associated with Zebrano. I'd like you to get an idea of how your reputation is being destroyed so please read below about our experience there: One of the worst meals I've had in a very long time. They have associated with Rack City and they are (trying) serving their food. The day we visited the menu was reduced to only 3 items. We ordered all 3 of them. After a long wait we got the chicken wings which were excellent. The sauce was amazing. This made us believe we were going to have a great meal. We could not have been more wrong. We waited for a long time. No food. They told us they were having problems because there was a big group on another floor and they could not cope with it (I went upstairs and there were no more than 15 people). Eventually we got 1 rack of ribs (of the 2 we had ordered). They were tough. Not tender at all. Meat was not falling off the bone. When we mentioned this the answer was "this is the way our chef likes them". The ribs were supposed to come with hash browns and cole slaw. None of them made it to the table. We were told the 2nd rack was coming soon. We waited and waited. The chef came to talk to us to say he could only give us half a rack and that it was going to be on the house. We kept waiting. Eventually we go the half rack, again dry and again with no hash browns or cole slaw. The 3rd dish we ordered was brisket loaded fries. Once again we had to wait, different staff kept giving us different excuses contradicting each other. Eventually we got the fries which were room temperature and the brisket was fridge cold. We sent them back immediately. More waiting. More excuses. More lies. The chef came back to talk to us. He blamed someone else in the kitchen for sending us cold fries. Nobody assumed any mistake. They were only serving 3 dishes and they could not cope with that. It was a disaster. Don't want to imagine what's going to happen if they ever attempt to serve the whole menu

Sadly went here based off Jay Rayners review (Jay, come on, you need to try better places!) and was disappointed. Ribs were dry, fatty and stuck like rubber to the bone, doused in a Sickly Sweet BBQ sauce (this is not what REAL American BBQ is like, its a little sweet but more smokey and spicy) The Brisket was not slices of meat but more like standard shredded/pulled pork, with pickles and mustard, again doused in a sweet sauce. Corn bread was nice as was the coleslaw which had orange zest in it! 2 tables next to me had the Beef Rib which I thought would at least fall off the bone but alas, was hard and leathery when I checked with them. The fried chicken thighs/bun do not state in the menu that they are doused in the same sauce (should tell customers, as the missus just wanted fried chicken) I suggest Rack City rethink what US Ribs should be - Falling of the bone, SLOW smoked, tender, and tasty not like pure sugar candy made of rubber!! The main chef was on holiday, so I do wonder if this has anything to do with it, but reading some other reviews probably give these guys a miss. Edit: Shame the chef didn’t address my issue about the ribs being rubber in your reply? So is that your style too? :(

This place is a hidden gem in Highgate. The food was so delicious and full of flavour. We had the mixed platter, which was really great value as the portions were very generous and the food was so tasty - a mix of authentic US BBQ dishes. Our favourite plates were the beef brisket, which was rich and melted in the mouth, and the mac and cheese, which was so addictive. The chicken wings were crispy but not dry and the pork ribs had an amazing smokey flavour. The Duke's Head is a fab American Country bar and the staff are really friendly and the drinks (especially the margs) went very well with our food. The place was clean and welcoming. We will definitely be bringing our friends so they can try it here too!

Absolutely shocking service.

Went to the restaurant and was told to take a seat and as the kitchen was busy give them 5-10minutes to calm down then we can order our food. 45 minutes later I approached the waiter and explained that we have now been waiting for 45 minutes, where she informed me that kitchen is super busy and as a result we could not be served. She then said, I’m going to speak with the chef then see if we can take your order. I mean we have been waiting for 1hr 45 minutes by now, to be told actually we may not be able to serve you at all. What a joke of service. She then says she has spoken to the chef and can take our order but no chicken and only ribs. We had a child with us and said can the child eat at least, she then said she will bring mac and cheese for her but guess what NO. We have now been waiting close to 3hrs for a bloody food order which is ridiculous, unacceptable, disgusting service. 3 hours waiting with no food with a child is unacceptable, you can easily tell us we can’t serve you but no wait 5 minutes, and we will bring the food.

There is no explanation here but absolutely shocking shocking shocking service.

Avoid this place if you want to eat food, if not then bring a tent or something so you can sleep here as the order takes forever and lie to you!!!!!!! Shocking shocking shocking service! Can’t emphasise how S^#t this place is!!! Drinks are run down, service is none existent….. guys avoid!!!

Once food arrived she just slammed it on our table, she gave us the wrong food, and should have come with chips and slaw. She just slammed it on our table and did not bring the rest of our food. Again 20-30minutes later she then bring the rest of our food. When I said that our food is finished, and why did she bring the food now and why she didn’t bring it with our food, she just said that next time book it online. She then took our food from our table and gave it to another table, who was waiting for food also!!! You really took our food and gave it to someone else!! I like to know the food standard there!!! Avoid avoid avoid avoid avoid avoid...

A nice vibe, but food not special.

Just a hatch at the back of a pub serving BBQ with vague Kansas/Caribbean stylings.

Ordered beef short ribs with hash brown fries (£29) and a smoked chicken sandwich with skin-on fries (£14). Both prices quite fair (short rib could be a couple of pounds cheaper).

Skin-on fries were nice, moderately crispy, well seasoned, but didn't stand out either for texture or flavour. Hash brown fries were just little nuggets of hash browns (tater tots) fried until super crispy (and served very fresh out the frier), but lacking any textural contrast from the interior.

Short ribs were coated in a Kansas-style sauce (thick and sweet) with a little bit of chilli heat added. The sauce was pleasant but not particularly interesting. The ribs themselves were somehow served a little on the cool side but also a bit overcooked and starting to get dry. That's an unforgivable mistake to make with shortribs. Smokey flavour was on the low side, and the bark was close to non-existent.

Smoked chicken sandwich was rubbish. Chicken lacked flavour and smoke, there were nuggets of gristle in the sandwich, and the bread-to-topping ratio was totally out, making the whole thing dry and a little unpleasant.

I really like what they're trying to do and how they've set up, so I had a lot of good will going in, but it's just not there at the moment. There aren't many American BBQ spots in London, and probably fewer than half a dozen across all of north London, so the competition for them is low. I just wish the food was...
