We came here to celebrate with the whole family. We absolutely LOVE Thai food and seeing the reviews we came to this place despite our cousins recommendation to go to another restaurant.
The location of the restaurant is convenient and we found parking pretty easily close by. The inside space is small, so the ten of us took up half the restaurant. It was also end of June when we came and it was a hot day, but this place did not have an Air Conditioner or proper fan or ventilation, so it was not very comfortable temperature wise.
We ordered several appetisers such as Satay, a couple soups and some spring rolls. The waiter encouraged us to order more food, and noting that we had a couple vegetarians suggested the Vegetable Tempura. I have NEVER ordered Tempura at a Thai restaurant since it is a Japanese dish, but took his suggestion. The spring rolls were VERY small, the Satay didnt have much meat on it either, and the Tempura was soaked in Oil. The Spring rolls and satay were at least tasty, but we could not even eat the Satay.
For mains, we ordered a few different dishes (a couple Red Curry, Green Curry, Pad Thai, and Pad Ke Mow) When the dishes came out, the dishes were very small, maybe enough for one person. Typically, at a Thai restaurants the dishes are meant to be shared family style, but we took one look at the size of the bowls, and had to order more right away.
While some of us found the food at least tasty, some family members left hungry and unsatisfied. They went home to have more to eat, as they were not happy with their meal and experience. This ended up being a very expensive meal, which would not have been that big of an issue had everyone at least enjoyed themselves and had enough to eat, but that was not the case.
This restaurant needs to make it clear to patrons that the main curry and noodle dishes are not meant for sharing, and also indicate how many pieces come with each appetizer as well to set expectations for...
Read moreIf you are hungry, don't come here. I used to eat here regularly, over 20yrs, but wont come here again. Minuscule chicken portions in the yellow curry, watery sauce with the sea bass, not impressed. I gave these people several bottles of my wine to test, several weeks ago. They didnt even acknowledge this until I complained about the size of the portions. I asked to take away the chicken so that I could photograph the size of the portions, but I left before this was brought back to the table. I believe that they didnt want me to photograph it. If you want a decent sized meal go to Thai Square or even the kebab shop around the corner. I wont be going back. This used to be a really good place to eat. If this is how it is going to be under new management then they seriously need to get a grip on the food. There are too many other good...
Read moreHaving lived in Hanwell for well over a decade, I'm not sure why I'd never been here before. Since I visited in December, every time the idea is raised go for food out, this is where I want to go!
The lunch menu is great, so reasonably priced. I chose randeng curry with plain rice, and it comes with a side dish- spring rolls. So delicious!
When we were there, the owners (who work as chef and maitre d') had laid out a banquet on two of the tables and were taking their annual promo shots. They generously offered us our choice of dishes from the set since they finished while we were still there.
The food is prepared fresh every day. I feel I've discovered a hidden gem, and can't wait to take friends and family there. Highly...
