Had a great meal, from reading previous reviews, I was a bit sceptical but I had to go to judge for myself and it turned out to be a great meal & friendly service. Went on a Saturday afternoon at about 12:30 where you might think the worse, but I was happily wrong. Only have a few things that gave it a 4* this was my other half was about to get up for another drink and the staff member came over and said he can get that whilst he takes the food order but after 10mins of taking the order still no drink, so had to ask about the drinks and then it was suddenly being poured, sadly due to football was on and staff was sidetracked from the footie on all screens. Also pub decor was not as good as the previous owners, nice hygienic wood floor was covered with carpet in the front half of the pub, to which I could smell the musky smell of damp carpets, back part still a wooden floor to where we ate. A big plus that should add an extra ½ star 🌟is that when plates were brought to the table, they were warm plates which is a big thumbs up 👍🏼 👍🏼 All this said and done I would definitely go back again for the lovely meal and...
Read morePassing through West London after visiting family my Partner and I stopped for a bite to eat and refreshments before heading back to our accommodation and after leaving there I felt impelled to comment on an exceptional couple of hours we stayed there. With regard to our food, we had the garlic bread, hummus, guacamole and baba ganoush sharer (it was to die for). We had pizza for mains and although I've never really been a fan of pizza but the pizza was exceptionally made and packed with flavour. Im a convert its safe to say. I was on driving duty so my partner was able to indulge in the fine ales they have to offer. Double thumbs up from him.
We both commented on the staff at the King's Arms. They were outstanding. Hospitable from entering the establishment and we couldn't praise them enough for the care and concern they they gave, not only to us but to everyone visiting the premises, their social distancing and covid care in these strange times was honestly admirable and second to none.
Thank you all at The King's Arms for a truly hospitable and overwhelming safe stay....
Read moreBig disappointment. Owned by the same group that has the Grosvenor about half a mile away. Wen't to the Grosvenor Friday and had a fabulous meal and a choice of good real ales. It was packed out. Tried to book for the Sunday and it was fully booked and they have a lot of tables!!! Decided to give the Kings Arms a go instead over lunch on Sunday. They had two draught beers (and this pub was one of the first to get into the CAMRA directory - albeit many years ago) and a huge selection of gassy, wishy washy keg beers. They only had pizza's foodwise which were tasty enough, but the toppings were mean and uninteresting. However - the staff were very very good. We were there from 12.30 till 2pm and the only other people there was a man and his two young daughters. So cmon Kings Arms - get your act together or you will go bust. More real ales, turn it into a gastropub like the Grosvenor and make some...
