Popped in here last weekend with the other-half, picked it at random over the other Indians on the road but so glad we did! Absolutely blown away by the food! This may well be the best Indian I've ever had, the classics are all there on the menu, but the Chef's signature and the Razza specials were great to see on the Menu.
Started with a couple of papadums and was instantly impressed with just the sauces on offer! We shared a mixed platter off of the charcoal pit starters, and a crispy fried seafood off of the street food starters, both utterly delicious but we probably could have gotten away with just sharing the one, as the portion sizes definitely aren't to be sneered at! I had the Murgh Masala for mains, with my other-half having the lamb Acharie, with a pilau rice each and a pershwari naan to share. Absolutely amazing, genuinely some of the nicest food I've had, let alone curries/indian food. Both of us struggled to finish our meals, but only due to the portion sizes!
The usual drink fare is available, cobra beer, decent wine list, but you're definitely not coming here for the drinks, but you HAVE to come here for the food!
Staff also all helpful, happy and welcoming, the place is perfectly laid out, well presented and modern, but for how good the food is they could get away with the place being a tip and I'd still be back!
So glad we randomly chose to pop in here, because we've definitely found a new gem of a restaurant we'll...
Read moreThis is now probably my favourite Indian Restaurant, only the Shenfield Tandoori throws a spanner in the works. I would describe Razza as modern, and a way off the traditional subdued affair of your old-school Indian. Nice lighting, comfy seating, trendy circular booths, and friendly staff. Yet none of this is any good if the food does not measure up.
I have now visited on four occasions, and have ordered the same dish every time, it really is that good......try the Balti, you will not be disappointed!!!! The food is superb, such intense flavours compared to the blandness of many Indian restaurants. The onion bhaji's are fantastic, the Bombay potato the same, and samples of the dishes of my dining companions only enhanced my opinion.
I will definitely be back, and maybe even muster the courage to go off-piste and try another dish, probably one of the Chef's Specials.
As a footnote, if you like a beer or two before your curry, The Archers is a two minute walk away and a great venue to start your...
Read moreHow on earth this place has not received more reviews on here is a mystery to me. Razza is an absolute gem and we are lucky to have it in an area full of substandard , generic suburban Indian restaurants. These guys use quality fresh ingredients and pack more flavour in one dish than some of the better known places in Romford have on their entire menu.
I have eaten in some of the best regarded Indian and Pakistani restaurants in London and honestly say this place is the best I have come across. My friends from Hyderabad in India were amazed at the authenticity of the Korai, a personal favourite of mine. The Tandoori king prawn is a masterpiece that leaves you wanting more.
So much so that one of the highlights of visiting my flat now for my friends is to 'get a Razza' in. If you haven't tried these guys yet then you are in for a ...
