I was excited to try this business, especially after seeing it listed on the Too Good To Go app. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations for several reasons.
The stated collection window was between 9:45 PM and 10:15 PM. When I arrived promptly, a staff member seemed surprised and told me it was too early. They explained that they would be open until 11:00 PM and asked me to return at 10:30 PM, despite their Google listing stating a 10:00 PM closing time.
Upon my return at the new requested time, the display was completely empty. For my £4.25 'surprise bag,' I received only one plain croissant and two sausage rolls. As someone familiar with the app, this quantity is unusually small for the price and did not feel like a good value.
Additionally, the staff mumbled amongst themselves about the order, questioning why there was a Too Good To Go collection at that time. This made for an uncomfortable situation in the shop.
I believe the delayed collection time and extended hours were a strategic decision, likely due to a Coldplay concert. When I first arrived, the display was half full, but it was completely empty on my return—suggesting products were sold to last-minute customers. This undermines the purpose of the Too Good To Go app, which is to reduce food waste, not to serve as a last-minute inventory clearance for full-paying customers.
My suggestion is that if a business is not fully committed to the Too Good To Go initiative, it might be better to opt out entirely. If you do choose to participate and it's okay, it's important to honor the commitments you make, such as the advertised collection times and providing a fair quantity of food. If you anticipate selling out of products due to a special event, you should cancel the Too Good To Go offering for that day.
This experience has made me hesitant to ever return, not just for a Too Good To Go bag, but as a regular customer. I hope this feedback helps you...
Read moreHi, I usually really enjoy ordering from you, especially the jacket potato with cheese and beans. Normally it’s amazing! With buttery potato, plenty of cheese and beans, and crispy onions on top.
But today’s order was really disappointing. The beans were stone cold, there was barely any cheese, and the potato itself was hard rather than soft and buttery like usual. For £8 for a jacket potato, it feels quite unfair — it’s just a potato, and it shouldn’t be so difficult to get right.
On a positive note, the matcha was great as always! I just wanted to share this feedback because I usually love your food, but today really fell short of the standard I’ve...
Read moreI just walked into this café and was greeted by a lovely, polite young man who took my order. However, while he was serving me, an overwhelmed-looking woman suddenly interrupted, told him off in front of me, and said “5 minutes please” to me in a very abrupt way. I was quite shocked at the unprofessionalism and rudeness, especially as the young man had been perfectly polite and attentive. When I asked him if it would really be 5 minutes, he kindly reassured me and went to prepare it straight away.
It was an unpleasant experience that left me feeling uncomfortable, which is a shame as the young lad was...
