Only came here because of a recommendation so I went with family.
Ordered: 1/4 pounder burger meal £9.50 Single 1/4 pounder burger £6.50 Fries £2.50 Grilled half boneless chicken meal £9.50 Wagyu smash burger £11.00 + fries and drink £3.00
🍔 1/4 pounder ⭐️⭐️⭐️- I liked the relish and onions, had adequate salt but just a normal burger and NOT WORTH £6.50 but I was really DISAPPOINTED that they give a SMALL PATTY and LARGE BUN. I think they are trying to cut corners (see images).
🍔 Wagyu burger ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - DELICIOUS. the only difference was that it was bigger and JUICIER but NOT WORTH paying £11.00 for.
🍗 Boneless chicken ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - DRY, SMALL PORTION. They stripped off too much of the chicken. I’d say Lebanese grill is still on top.
🍟 Fries ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - NOT BAD but for the price not worth it. Looked and Tasted like ICELAND chips.
🥫Condiments ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Garlic and Chilli sauce went really well with the chips.
🥤 Drinks ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - A selection of Evoca Mango, Cola and Strawberry, Tango mango/dark berry, Capri Sun or water. £1.50 each.
🍽️🪑Atmosphere ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - SMALL, COLD and JUST ABOUT adequate seating. The roof is raised and not connected so there is always a draft coming through. Also to get in you have to get out. White lighting doesn’t help. On the plus there is a small heater at the top which you can feel if you are directly under it.
💁🏽♂️💁♂️ Staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Friendly.
Altogether, came under £50.00. Overall, I’m not in a rush to return as it hasn’t blown me away. Food was average but is overpriced for its quality. Could’ve bought a platter elsewhere for the same price. However, I did leave on a full stomach.
I would recommend if you are in the area but I wouldn’t travel from afar...
Read moreWORST EXPERIENCE! - Please read this review to understand: I normally abstain from leaving negative reviews online after a bad experience, however I know they can do better. Normally their milkshakes are the best, and their food in their other branches are really good.
Today I visited this branch, the milkshake was extremely runny - the staff member explained that there was less ice-cream used as they only had "one tub", then later changed the story and blamed the weather - apparently ice-cream melts instantly once taken out from the fridge.
Milkshake was the least of my worries, the grilled chicken burger was extremely bland and tasteless - I guarantee there was no seasoning at all. just inedible. The steak chips was similarly tasteless - I used two packets of salt and pepper but still failed.
My friend ordered the lamb donner meal - its a good thing he ordered the small version as the donner was extremely salty, I don't know how he managed to eat it.
Even the sauces tasted weird, the mayonaise was tangy - and at this stage I was looking for something to give them the benefit and balance the scales, so here it is: The soft can drink was nice and cold. (I really tried to find something I enjoyed about the meal, seriously)
Once we finished, we were informed there were no wet wipes, and the staff invited my friend behind the counter to wash his hands next to the cooking - he came back smelling of grilled smoke.
I really hope Roast fix up this branch - they can do better but I doubt I'll ever return there again to know the...
Read moreWe originally stopped by Roast & Co. for a quick takeaway, but ended up dining in after my son tried the white sauce and was eager to enjoy the meal properly. Surprisingly, even though this wasn’t our first choice, the initial impressions were quite positive—the place looked inviting and had a nice atmosphere.
We ordered burgers and wings as part of meal deals. The wings arrived after about 20 minutes, followed by the burgers and other items 10 minutes later. Unfortunately, service was a bit disorganized. We had to ask twice for drinks, and there was no table service initially. Our table was also dirty until the owner noticed and asked a staff member to clean it, which wasn’t the best first impression.
We also faced some issues with the dips—specifically, the white sauce that had first won us over. The bottles were empty, and while we were offered dipping tubs instead, we asked if the bottles could be refilled. Instead of a quick solution, we were given dips again, which was a bit frustrating and left us feeling a bit dismissed.
Despite these service hiccups, the food was genuinely excellent. The burgers were juicy, the wings were full of flavour, and overall, the quality of the meals exceeded our expectations.
Overall: Roast & Co. has great food, but the service could use improvement. A bit more attention to customer care and coordination would make a big difference. With better service, this place could easily become...
