Honestly just finished with burgers and I must say I have no choice but to rate it 1 star, purely because A I do have high standards but I do give 3 to 4 stars if something is special. Those who follow my reviews know how many places I gave 3 and occasionally 4 stars in past.My pass and good rating starts from 3 and 4 is the highest. Now Smash was just 1. I tried double smash and El-Mexicano burgers and both were pretty ordinary tbh. Burger bun was fresh and okayish. Not hot at all which makes sense given it was 15 to 20 min delivery time. There was no taste whatsoever in beef smash party with patties seemingly burnt at edges. Similarly the El-Mexicano chicken was just another ordinary fillet burger with no taste other than taste of salt being the obvious one. I must say Smash patty burger in general is just conspicuous by its look, tenderness and rich taste, none of which was available in this smash burger from here. Burger bun was not as soft as how it should be,like hugging snuggly with the patties. And beef patties had no taste whatsoever. Cheesy chips were bland and tasteless. I think this was the only time I may have tried this Smash chain. I know so many other places which do wicked smash burgers with seed/seedless bun but this was an experience waiting to forget. Sorry guys,I am a connoisseur when it comes to food and this is not a good presentation of unique smash burgers. Nothing personal, I hope the owner keeps improving but he has to change the complete dynamics and taste of patty to be any successful. I must advise owner to try some smash party burgers in Manchester,Birmingham and even London and he will find out what I mean exactly. I am let down seriously.Photos were delusional. But again best wishes for the restaurant if they can change the whole dynamics of these burgers. I tried Hungry Cow leytonstone and this is called Smash burger.Read my review there...
Read moreThis is an honest review of Smash Burgers which is local to me, I heard a lot of good things about it so I thought I try. I was also very hungry that day. They say the food usually tastes even more better when you're hungry but for me it was completely the opposite!
So i got myself a Smash Angus Burger £6.50 with chips £1.50.
Smash Burgers pride themselves with the quality of meat being premium hence the price. I've heard similar things about premium meat from a lot of other places - so I'm fine with that and was more than happy to pay the price for it.
The first shocker before I even tucked into the burger was the 1 single paper thin patty! It wasn't thin it was paper thin!
It's the thinnest burger patty I've ever had. The meat was so thinly spread it was day light robbery for £6.50. For the same price you can get premium quality gourmet burgers that are thicker. In fact for £6.50 you can get premium gourmet burger MEAL from a similar burger establishment from Upton Lane across the road from Smash Burgers.
Look at the size of the bun and compare it to the meat. All I was tasting was bun bun and more bun. When i did get a taste of the meat it was tasteless I think it needed salt. Also there was no other filling except for caramelised onions, cheese and smash sauce...
The chips were good yet I cant be swayed given the size of the patty, taste of the patty and the bun overpowering it. I was left even more hungry...
I'm sorry guys that burger needs to be reduced to £3 and if you double up the patty then maybe £5 at most; that's only if you're going to keep it paper thin. Otherwise if the meat thickens I'd be more than happy to pay £7 - £10 for a decent premium gourmet burger that fills you up.
I dont think I'll return if I'm honest unless the size of the patty or the price changes...
Read moreLocated on Green Street in London, Smash delivers an elevated experience for fans of hearty comfort food with a modern twist. From the moment I walked in, the tempting smell of sizzling burgers and loaded fries set the tone for a delicious meal. I kicked off with the Beef Loaded Fries, which were a standout—crispy, golden fries topped with juicy, tender beef, gooey cheese, and a perfect blend of sauces that made each bite indulgent and satisfying. The Signature Smash Burger was the real showstopper. The patty, expertly smashed, had the perfect crispy sear while staying juicy and flavorful inside. Paired with fresh, crunchy veggies and a soft toasted bun, it was a simple yet satisfying burger that hit all the right notes.
For dessert, the Classic Vanilla Milk Cake was a light and delicate treat, with just the right amount of sweetness and a soft, airy texture. But the Cream and Cookies Cake was the real indulgence—rich, creamy, and packed with cookie crunch that added a delightful texture. To wash it all down, I tried the Strawberry Mojito, a refreshing and fruity take on the classic, which was perfectly balanced between sweet strawberry and minty freshness. The Passion Fruit Mojito offered a tangy tropical twist that was equally refreshing and fun.
What I love about Smash on Green Street is how they manage to take comfort food staples and give them a fresh, exciting spin without losing the soul of what makes these dishes so satisfying. Whether you’re there for a casual meal with friends or treating yourself to something indulgent, Smash offers a memorable dining experience that combines bold flavors, great textures, and a relaxed, welcoming vibe.
