Cosy pub with lots of screens showing live sport. We booked ahead for a Sunday roast at 3 pm for a party of four. We ordered the pork and chicken roasts. Unfortunately, these were underwhelming and not of the quality expected. Perhaps it was too late into Sunday service but there was no cauliflower cheese remaining. The chicken was quite dry and the roast potatoes very dense almost as if they weren’t completely cooked through. They were not fluffy, nor crispy. The red cabbage was overly spiced, almost reminisce of mulled wine, there were whole cloves left in, which was not pleasant to bite into unexpectedly. The pork was cooked averagely, the parts that were caramelised were nice. However, this wasn’t consistent and there were chewy bits of fat. The pork roasts did not come with the Apple cider sauce as stated in the menu. The gravy was not rich or flavour full but dull and watery. The servers were welcoming however, seemed to struggle with a busy Sunday service. We asked for mustard and extra gravy which didn’t arrive and had to ask another server. The large TV behind our table was put on unexpectedly on loud. Appreciate that there was a game on. However we were sat in the dining area and there were other TVs available for people to watch the sport. We had to ask the TV to be muted a couple of times which are in the ambience of our meal. The ladies toilets were out of order therefore, customers had to use the disabled toilet which could have been more regularly cleaned considering the amount of customers now using it.

So much potential. However, the worst roast I've ever had in my life. I had the trio. It was priced higher than the top 10 rated roasts in london... It tasted and looked as though it had been plated at 9am that morning and then shoved into the microwave before serving it at 3:30pm. All the meat was dry, so dry that the beef had curled up at the edges, the pork belly was barely edible and had to be sawn through (with the butter knife provided) Why is there a sausage and white pudding on the plate?! The gravy had congealed and turned to jelly. The TWO small potatoes were like cardboard and had definitely not been made fresh. The Yorkshire pudding was tiny, crumpled and dismal. All of it plopped onto a plate smeared with mash potato... The carrot was the best thing on the plate (despite its appreance.) The picture makes it seem somewhat edible. However, zooming in, you're able to tell that this is not fresh nor prepared with love. The bar service was great. (I only wish they polished their glasses)

We recently hosted our wedding at The Rushmere, and we couldn't have chosen a better place! From start to finish, the experience was flawless. Karen and her team were incredibly attentive, the food was fantastic, and all of our guests were thrilled with how everything turned out. It was so easy to work with the team from the very beginning. They were professional yet friendly and never said no to any of our requests. They truly went above and beyond to make our day special, and we are already looking forward to hosting future events here. The setting was stunning, and we can’t wait to share the photos taken outside under the pub's name! We highly recommend The Rushmere for anyone looking for a venue that combines professionalism with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Thank you again, Karen and team, for making our day unforgettable!

We, a group of four, had a pretty bad experience at the Tennis party last year (2023) which was hosted at the Rushmere. We paid £200 for an event that included a few drinks and a meal, and did not have a meal prior to getting there after work. We then realised the food had already been served and we were left out from being served. We were at the bar where a lot of the private event people were including the drink sponsors and should not have been left out. It was clear that we belonged to the party and we all had wristbands to make that clear to anyone. The whole thing was very badly organised in comparison to the previous year. My friends joined me from all over London and some had a journey of over 1.5h just to get into the Village only to leave without dinner or anything we paid for. No goody bags either. We had to then go out and grab dinner elsewhere and ended up spending another £160 (thankfully the men have paid) but overall this day has cost us £360!! We literally felt conned. No one looked after us and it was almost like only the young influencers were “served”. In previous years it was a great party and it was a good mix of people from all professional backgrounds and ages incl politicians and all were treated the same. This time it was solely for young influencers and who has the most following, and the rest were treated badly. I think 2023 was not the party itself to blame but the venue. When we raised the fact that we did not get our dinner, they said to ask the bar staff and they can ask the kitchen to make us something. When I sent a friend to clarify, he came back to say they cannot do anything. This place owes us a dinner for four or at least a refund. The experience was not enjoyable at all.

Update after owner’s response:

I get that but service and food was all done and served by your venue. We have been told that this is the case by your own staff. This is a very lame response with zero accountability for the bad service we received. It’s hard to believe that you allowed your venue space to be used by over 200+ people for at least 7 hours with zero financial gain to you. The food was your financial gain and you have not served everyone but took the money which is appalling. The food was coming from your kitchen and that’s what we have been told by your...
