Shocking takeaway service&lying staff. My husband ordered a takeaway for two (2veggie curries, 1 rice, 1 paratha) on a Friday after the lockdown at 7pm. We live only a mile away. The JustEat app said the delivery was 8:40. At 9pm we rang the restaurant wondering why it hadn’t arrived yet and the LYING STAFF told us that the delivery guy had just left with our order and it would be there in ten minutes. We waited and waited. THE ORDER ARRIVED AT 10:10PM! The staff are ABSOLUTE LIARS because if the delivery guy had left on his motorbike at 9pm with our order THERE WAS NO WAY IT WOULD TAKE HIM OVER AN HOUR TO DRIVE A SINGLE MILE ON HIS BIKE TO GET TO OUR HOUSE AT THE TIME OF THE LOCKDOWN WHEN THERE IS HARDLY ANY TRAFFIC ON THE ROAD ON WEEKEND EVENINGS. We were absolutely famished by the time the food arrived at 10:10PM. The food was awfully BLAND and tasted disgusting - like HOSPITAL FOOD and absolutely NOTHING like the Indian meals we’ve had at restaurants in India (yes, we visit India a lot). When we tried to claim money back from JustEat for the lies and the utterly delayed delivery, the restaurant REFUSED to budge and give us any discount out of courtesy!!! We visit the high street and walk past this restaurant a lot but after this DISGUSTING EXPERIENCE FROM THE LYING STAFF, even when the lockdown is eased we. WON’T be visiting this establishment! Ordered a meal for large family using the JustEat app. After the confirming the order, we received a phonecall from the restaurant's owner informing us that they had no lamb in stock except for "Lamb Tikka pieces" and whether we were happy to accept this instead or whether we wanted to cancel the order. We said would rather cancel the order as our kids weren't going to enjoy the lamb tikka. The owner told us we would have to cancel the order using the App but to call back if there were any problems.
When trying to cancel the order on JustEat, the app automated it would charge us half the order price (£35). When calling the restaurant back, the person there said they didn't know how to use Just Eat and gave us their boss's number. On calling their boss back, they repeatedly hung up. On calling Just Eat, they eventually got the restaurant to cancel the order and refund us half the charge.
I have no problem that they had no ingredients, but by refusing to then answer the phone, the owner left us with a £35 charge after we cancelled the order using the app and wasted 45min of my time on the phone to JustEat (who were themselves incredibly unhelpful). I was...
Read moreWe recently had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The service was extremely slow. When we chased up to order we were pretty much ignored for speaking up. Once we did manage to place our order the food was very slow to arrive. When it did arrive the order was incorrect with a meat dish served to one of our vegetarian friends. Some of the dishes were cold. Overall the food was of average quality. My lamb biriani had some very tough bits of lamb. When I approached the manager at the end of the meal to discuss our sit in and suggest he should offer a discount he blew up and turned very rude and aggressive.
