I was looking for a pure vegetarian meal, which I found here. However, the taste/ quality was a major let down, maybe because I ordered North Indian while they specialise in South Indian cuisine, and don't have the right staff who can cook north Indian food.
Positives-
Really quick service, I got my food in less than 5 mins I think
The team waived off the discretionary service charge when I raised my concerns. I've read some reviews that say that their service charges were not waived off, but at least that was not so in my case. In fact, I didn't have to push for removing the service charge, the team did that on their own
Before departing, the team was sensitive enough to apologise for the poor experience they delivered.
Negatives-
the chapati was surely not cooked on the spot. It was clearly pre-cooked and then micro-waved
the chapati was almost certainly made of refined flour and not whole wheat flour
Matar Paneer, which was my main reason for going for the Rajdhani thali, had literally one very tiny cube of paneer. I raised my concern to the team but they took absolutely no action. The elderly gentleman there muttered some syllables in a language I didn't understand, and simply walked away. Bitter disappointment!
the aloo gobhi was actually aloo gobhi pakoda, which I wasn't expecting to be
for the meal that I had, 20 pounds seemed overpriced
there was no North Indian dessert in the North Indian thali. I was told that it was sold out
Payasam, the replacement dessert, was too sweet..
the other vegetables consisted mainly of potatoes and peas. No real difference between Korma and other vegetables that I had.
9)the gravies were too watery
All in all, I think they should stick to their USP (which I assume is South Indian cuisine) and remove the north Indian thali...
Read moreOn 26/11 I was on long shift and I was looking for vegetarian rastraunt I'm pure vegetarian. So it was raining I went there but my bad I was eating bread because of starvation. He said oh then I had to change, actually i think he doesn't want to work. He said go and sit on the table near entrance. I want to say this restaurant food is awesome but their hospitality is so bad may be he was trying to judge me by my clothes or something else but my judgement always right that guy needs to learn about hospitality. I have worked as hospitality and Store manager i have handled these situations.i didn't want to write anything but his behaviour insist me. Please teach him. Although I had bread but firstly you should welcome the customers then say what's the wrong and always say...
Read moreSagar Vegan & Vegetarian Restaurant on Percy Street is a delightful find for those seeking a scrumptious dining experience in West End!
Upon entering, we were greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance that set the stage for a relaxing meal.
Now, let's talk about the food, including the Sagar specials we tried! The Sagar Special Dosa was an absolute delight - crispy and bursting with flavor. We couldn't get enough of it! However, the Sagar Special Uthapam was just okay - it didn't quite match the dosa's excitement.
Moving on to the main course, the coconut curry was rich and creamy, leaving a pleasant impression. The use of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients was evident and added to the overall appeal of the dishes.
Sagar also caters to dietary restrictions with their onion and garlic free options, making it inclusive and accommodating for all.
The mango lassi was a refreshing and satisfying way to round off the meal, with the perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess.
The pricing was reasonable, especially given the quality of the food and experience.
In conclusion, Sagar Vegan & Vegetarian Restaurant is a lovely spot for a vegan dining adventure. The Sagar Special Dosa was a standout, and while some aspects could be improved for uthapam. If you're in West End and seeking delicious veg or vegan dishes, Sagar is well...
