Sagar Vegan & Vegetarian Restaurant on Percy Street is a delightful find for those seeking a scrumptious dining experience in West End! Upon entering, we were greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance that set the stage for a relaxing meal. Now, let's talk about the food, including the Sagar specials we tried! The Sagar Special Dosa was an absolute delight - crispy and bursting with flavor. We couldn't get enough of it! However, the Sagar Special Uthapam was just okay - it didn't quite match the dosa's excitement. Moving on to the main course, the coconut curry was rich and creamy, leaving a pleasant impression. The use of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients was evident and added to the overall appeal of the dishes. Sagar also caters to dietary restrictions with their onion and garlic free options, making it inclusive and accommodating for all. The mango lassi was a refreshing and satisfying way to round off the meal, with the perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess. The pricing was reasonable, especially given the quality of the food and experience. In conclusion, Sagar Vegan & Vegetarian Restaurant is a lovely spot for a vegan dining adventure. The Sagar Special Dosa was a standout, and while some aspects could be improved for uthapam. If you're in West End and seeking delicious veg or vegan dishes, Sagar is well worth a visit!

Well I was in search for some South Indian fare in London and a simple search in Google brings up Sagar group of restaurants on the map.. Well thats how I ended up getting there... This is a nice cozy , simple interior space, serving some very nice South Indian fare. I was away from my dose of Darshini style Vada Sambar dip and hence Vada sambar was an obvious choice... Secondly i heard great reviews about their Dosas, so also ordered a Paper Massage Dosa... The food was served pretty quickly and was pipping hot. I guess my cravings made me attack the food a little to soon for comfort.. ;-) .. The coconut chutney and Sambar that accompanied the Vada was very tasty. The Sambar was a close fusion of Malabar style with Udipi. A good mix of madras cucumber, pumpkin and Jaggery, to bring in the sweet tones. Alert !!! If you are alone and have a huge appetite, then and only then, should one order the Paper Masala Dosa....its freakin huge.. !!! The masala is served separate along with Sambar and Chutney... The Dosa is true to its name, crispy, and crunchy. The masala tastes very Bombay Udipi restaurant Style.. Overall a great food experience.. The staff is courteous and keep checking on you... Overall I believe this is a good place to have some Southindian fare , if you are near Oxford street or Tottenham Court rd area !! I enjoyed it !

I had an absolutely delightful experience at Sagar Vegan & Vegetarian Restaurant – West End, located at 17A Percy Street, London. This place truly brings the flavours of India to life with authenticity, cleanliness, and warmth. I ordered the Lunch Set and Masala Dosa—and both dishes were outstanding. 🍛 Lunch Set – A wholesome and satisfying platter with a variety of traditional items. Each element was cooked to perfection and balanced in flavour. It felt like a proper home-cooked South Indian meal. 🥞 Masala Dosa – Crispy on the outside, soft inside, and filled with perfectly spiced potato masala. Served with fresh coconut chutney and warm sambar—it was absolutely spot on. ✨ Highlights: • 100% pure vegetarian and vegan-friendly options • Immaculately clean and hygienic dining area • Friendly and attentive staff who made the experience even better • Very reasonable prices for central London 💬 Dining at Sagar reminded me of being back in India. The food was comforting, the service was exceptional, and the ambiance was calming. You rarely find this kind of authentic South Indian food outside of India—and I found it right here in London! 👉 If you’re in town and love real vegetarian Indian food, Sagar West End is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

I was looking for a pure vegetarian meal, which I found here. However, the taste/ quality was a major let down, maybe because I ordered North Indian while they specialise in South Indian cuisine, and don't have the right staff who can cook north Indian food.

Positives-

  1. Really quick service, I got my food in less than 5 mins I think

  2. The team waived off the discretionary service charge when I raised my concerns. I've read some reviews that say that their service charges were not waived off, but at least that was not so in my case. In fact, I didn't have to push for removing the service charge, the team did that on their own

  3. Before departing, the team was sensitive enough to apologise for the poor experience they delivered.

Negatives-

  1. the chapati was surely not cooked on the spot. It was clearly pre-cooked and then micro-waved

  2. the chapati was almost certainly made of refined flour and not whole wheat flour

  3. Matar Paneer, which was my main reason for going for the Rajdhani thali, had literally one very tiny cube of paneer. I raised my concern to the team but they took absolutely no action. The elderly gentleman there muttered some syllables in a language I didn't understand, and simply walked away. Bitter disappointment!

  4. the aloo gobhi was actually aloo gobhi pakoda, which I wasn't expecting to be

  5. for the meal that I had, 20 pounds seemed overpriced

  6. there was no North Indian dessert in the North Indian thali. I was told that it was sold out

  7. Payasam, the replacement dessert, was too sweet..

  8. the other vegetables consisted mainly of potatoes and peas. No real difference between Korma and other vegetables that I had.

9)the gravies were too watery

  1. lastly, the Portion size was too big for one person. It's not nice to leave food on the plate, so I had to finish everything, which was a challenge. Had the food been tasty, I may not have struggled to finish it.

All in all, I think they should stick to their USP (which I assume is South Indian cuisine) and remove the north Indian thali...

On 26/11 I was on long shift and I was looking for vegetarian rastraunt I'm pure vegetarian. So it was raining I went there but my bad I was eating bread because of starvation. When i opened the door the the middle aged guy came there who was looking at me like I'm criminal. He didn't welcome or say any respectful word to me just said you can't enter I said why ( i think his English was not good) he said you have this , I said what he said this😂😂 I said what ??? Umbrella?? He said no this food ??? 😂 I said ok I want take away ( i thought i should leave this restaurant because of bad behaviour but I had no other option because I'm pure veg and can't compromise) then he talked to a guy and bring menu i ordered rice but i had to order more but i didn't, after i ate my bread and enter and said i have to eat in i can observe what he wanted to say. He said oh then I had to change, actually i think he doesn't want to work. He said go and sit on the table near entrance. I want to say this restaurant food is awesome but their hospitality is so bad may be he was trying to judge me by my clothes or something else but my judgement always right that guy needs to learn about hospitality. I have worked as hospitality and Store manager i have handled these situations.i didn't want to write anything but his behaviour insist me. Please teach him. Although I had bread but firstly you should welcome the customers then say what's the wrong and always say...
