The only downside of this restaurant is that I can only leave one 5 star review—every time I come, I feel like writing them a new one.
Delicious food, super super kind service, no extra service charge, and perfect for late-night eats after a show!
I’m a dancer, and after long days of training or watching performances at Sadler’s Wells, I often end up absolutely starving—and this place has become my go-to spot. It’s open late, the food is incredible, and the prices are very reasonable.
The first time I came here, it was after a show and I was SO hungry. The food was so good I ended up ordering three bowls of rice—and yes, I finished them all. My friend and I both cleaned our plates and left in such a good mood. It was exactly what we needed.
A huge thank you to Tommy, who gave us the best service. He was super patient and explained the dishes so well. The second time I came back, he actually remembered me! Usually the dish I order comes with rice and toppings in the same bowl, but this time he thoughtfully served them separately. He said that way I could have more rice and more sauce. He even told his colleague to give me extra rice—and the bowl came out so full it looked like it could barely hold it all.
That little gesture really made my night. So sweet and so considerate!
I finished everything again the second time—it’s just that good. Can’t recommend this place enough, especially if you’re coming from Sadler’s. It’s the perfect spot to end the night with a...
Read more5 stars for food, it never disappoints. The menu changes fairly regularly, though the best dishes never get replaced. I must say that the service is not great though. I have had dinner here 10+ times in the last year, more if you count take out orders. And while the food is always excellent, service has always been so-so. Specifically, (1) dishes are brought out at weird times. Every time I go, I specially ask them to bring everything out as soon as its ready, and clarify that I am not sharing my dish so they need to bring things out together. Every single time, they bring only one dish. I / who I'm with has to eat it alone, and once done, they bring out the next one. It's very annoying because I am aware this is an issue and so many times I tell the waiter / waitress and still, it does not happen. Maybe its the language barrier, I'm not sure but it would be great if the restaurant improved this because it makes meals less enjoyable. (2) the staff are not great at giving advice on the menu. I often ask what do you recommend if I like this and not that, and they never have been able to give me an answer. This second is less important than the first, but if you would be nice if the waiter / waitresses has a better understanding of the menu and could help you order, because so much looks good! I will continue to come back for the food, but I think I'm going to stop giving a tip unless something changes because it's starting to feel like they...
Read moreFull review on Tripadvisor, but I had to warn people here as well since I originally located the restaurant via Googlemaps.
Never in my life have I heard of guilt-tripping bordering aggression towards customers, simply at the hint of them not leaving a full tip by card ...until my friend and I ate here. Last time I checked, leaving a tip was the customer's choice when it specifically stated "discretionary 10% service charge". Apparently that's not how it works at Sa Sa Sushi?
"Are you students?" was the snide comment our waitress decided to end on after educating us that "never in her five years of working here - since she was 15 - has anyone ever refused to tip", after we specifically stated we were going to tip, but in cash. Offensive, insulting staff are certainly enough reason for us to never return. It really is a shame because everything up until then had been alright. Sadly the service, although not bad to begin with, can only merit a 0/10 after that.
So would we recommend this place? No. – but if you do decide to try it out anyway, just try to suggest you aren’t paying full tip. Go on –...
