Sequoia — Restaurant in London

I visited your venue over the weekend and unfortunately had an extremely unpleasant experience that I feel compelled to address. From the moment I arrived, I was met with hostility from certain staff members. I noticed unwelcoming glances, and a friend of mine overheard staff making inappropriate comments and laughing about me while she was in the restroom. This level of unprofessionalism is both disappointing and unacceptable, especially in a hospitality setting. What made things worse was the behavior of one staff member in particular, who repeatedly and inappropriately touched my partner and a male friend as she walked past placing her hands on them rather than simply saying "excuse me." This happened multiple times and felt entirely intentional. It's hard to ignore when someone crosses personal boundaries so blatantly. As someone who always makes an effort to be polite and respectful in public spaces, I felt deeply uncomfortable and disrespected. I ended my night early because the situation left me feeling overstimulated and triggered especially when my own hair was flicked multiple times by the same staff member walking past. This didn’t feel like a coincidence, and it certainly didn’t feel like a welcoming environment. For someone who values personal space, being repeatedly touched by a stranger and watching them do the same to my partner was deeply upsetting. It felt like a deliberate attempt to provoke a reaction. I sincerely hope your team receives proper training on how to treat customers with respect and professionalism. Came here during the during the bank holiday weekend, as I was in need for a nice spot to chill and eat. Sequoia Lounge did not disappoint!

Hassan, the owner, and the team were very welcoming. It had a nice atmosphere. Very good music (we did not want to leave haha).

The table and facilities were clean. There are separate toilets for male and female for those who are finicky (I saw someone complain about this in another restaurant review LOL)

And the food and drinks are value for money. The portion sizes are great, as you can see in the pictures.

Lovely place, but boy was it crowded!! I was like Covid19 never existed. I'm not one who is easily scaremongered but there was no social distancing at all, no trace system that was mentioned and we even ended with 9 people at our table at one point (Strangers joining into our conversation from another table). They are usually faster when serving, but I guess with SOOOO many people that was hard to maintain. The wings and rum punch was beautiful and you could taste the alcohol which I liked, other places rum punches are usually weak. All in all a decent night. Do need a better...
