When you enter the restaurant feels like an authentic mexican place. When we went there for th first time the person working there was inside the kitchen. After minutes of yelling and knocking on the counter, we decided to leave.
Since the place looked cool, and I was passing by again recently, I decided to go in again and give it a second chance. There were two people working so I had high hopes.
After a while they finally recognised I am ready to be served. My order was quite simple, yet the gent who served me did not seem to comprehend what I actually wanted as he kept missing parts of my order. It did not really bother me that he used the same gloves for writing receipts, food, using the till and helping Uber drivers.
The vegetarian wraps were Ok. The beef one, upon unwrapping, looked like dry chunks of dog food. Disappointingly dry to eat. The warm cheese that was meant to come out of a machine was stored elegantly in a bag in a heater, and I was given half a cup ( thankfully, as the quality was poor).
If you are ok with walking down to Clapham North, there are so many nicer restaurants in the area to try. Definitely not experimenting with this...
Read moreThis restaurant opened a few months ago and I've been meaning to try it for a while. There's a seating area which looks nice and the place is well-decorated. I had a takeaway chicken quesadilla and skin-on fries and the food was freshly prepared in front of me. There was a good portion of chicken and cheese in my meal but unfortunately, it tasted pretty bland. All I could detect was a hint of chilli heat and nothing else - no coriander, paprika or cumin flavours coming through. At £12.50 for a large quesadilla plus £2 extra for the chips, I expected better. To be honest, I think Taco Bell is better, for half the price. To make matters worse, a few hours later, I experienced awful diarrhoea, so I definitely won't be eating here again. I had noticed that the server kept on the same pair of gloves whilst preparing the food and then using the till and I suspect this may be the source of the bacteria that gave me the runs. It could also be due to the salad vegetables used in the quesadilla, as I've no idea how long ago they'd...
Read moreWe ordered from Deliveroo and was excited to try this food for the first time. It did not exceed our expectations of Mexican food. The tacos were expensive for 3 and the beef was dry and tasted like it was boiled. Way to much cheese, sour cream and guacamole (something I wouldn't complain about if just a little bit more) the sauces saturated the prawn rice bowl and made the dish cold. There's just no flavour, it's very bland and overpriced. Me and my Son also fell ill after eating this food and we didn't even finish all of it due to our disappointment. I will not be trying here again...if you like bland, expensive tasteless food give here a try. Tortilla is alot better and that says something considering I do not consider them an authentic Mexican franchise. I cannot comment on atmosphere as I ordered...
