The manager was extremely rude.

My partner went to the bar to order us some drinks for a casual night out after work. He got a pint of beer and I wanted the peach and hibiscus ice tea cocktail. When he got back to our table with the drinks he said he was told they don’t do the cocktail by the glass, only by pitcher which I thought was strange. I took a sip of my drink and it tasted rank - straight alcohol and ice. No juice and no fruits. I immediately went to the bar to let a bartender know I didn’t like it and I wanted either a refund or exchange and wanted to know why the cocktail couldn’t be ordered by the glass in the first place.

A bartender served me and I explain to him that I really didn’t like the drink and it looked and tasted off. He turned around went under the bar and pick up an off white container which apparently was what the drink came out and made a funny face appearing to agree with me that the drink wasn’t great. I asked him for either a refund or exchange and he called his manager who greeted me and said straight away said that he won’t give me a refund or exchange as that would mean he would be out of pocket. I explained to him that I only had a sip of it and really did not like it, it wasn’t as if I had half the pitcher and changed my mind. He went in to tell me that if I were at a restaurant and ordered some wine I wouldn’t be able to send it back if I didn’t like it, as if I have never been to a restaurant in my life. I explained that this type of thing happens all the time and it’s a risk an establishment like that has to bear when I customer doesn’t like food/drinks and that I expected him to offer me something else instead of shut me down. He said again there was no way I was getting a refund. I explain to him that we didn’t even want a pitcher and was told we couldn’t order by the glass and he looked as if I was talking out of my arse until the bartender that served my partner fessed up and admitted he did said that. He eventually gave us a refund after over 10 mins of arguing my case and said I would have to leave immediately.

I thought it was rude, unprofessional and very unnecessary for him to behave like he did and then kick us out as if I was asking for the unimaginable. I was really embarrassed by the whole thing.

I used to come here multiple times per week but since new management has taken over it has gone downhill massively. The beer selection is minimal - they are often out of of basic beer lines. The bar staff are rude and look like they would rather be anywhere else. The service is shocking - the food portions are small, tasteless.

The only good thing about this place is they occasionally show the football. But even then, when you make a booking to watch a particular game, you'll turn up and they will give you the worst seats with the wrong game on...

The Avalon across the road is a much better option. Cheaper, more spacious, WAYYY better service, WAYYY better food.

Atmosphere was great for watching the euros, and manager was really good at getting everyone seated for bookings/setting up the TVs.

The reason I’m only giving 3 stars is because their glassware was absolutely revolting - lipstick/food stuck to every glass! I asked for straws at the bar, and they didn’t have any left (guessing others noticed the same thing we did). Asked for a new glass, but it was just as bad as the ones on our table! Perhaps the dishwasher was broken? Either way, would recommend bringing your own straws/plastic cups or something if you come here until the situation is sorted..
