Really quite upset. I’m autistic and suffer with a condition called ARFID which makes food extremely challenging for me and I have to have my food in certain ways hence why I do not eat out often. I wanted a carbonara today simply with no ham or white salsa and I was told no and was told something like food is their religion so they won’t change it? This made me feel really quite uncomfortable which actually brought me to tears at the table. As a place that cooks from fresh, my adjustments would’ve been really simple. I had to order the only other thing on the menu I’d eat which was a margarita pizza but it wasn’t very good in itself. I have a huge fear of offending or inconveniencing restaurants by asking for adjustments to my food but plucked up the courage this time but I was made to feel as though I had offended their culture when really I have an eating disorder and cannot eat certain things due to sensory issues. I feel like wherever your food is from or how authentic you want it to be, if a customer asks for a small adjustment like no ham or white salsa you need to put your personal feelings aside and cater for your customers. I wish I could eat authentic Italian food with no adjustments but unfortunately I can’t and was made to feel horrible...

Read moreAccidentally spotted this place on Google Maps, we turned up for dinner and we were in luck to get a table without booking. The interior is quirky, full of memorabilia and decor elements. The staff is really friendly and genuine, they seem to thrive in this cosy but busy place. And the food… we came for the pizzas, the variety is large, and hard to decide what to go with, but we decided on a calzone and a special pizza. Both of them were rich, filling, massive pizzas, with great dough and quality components. The Disco Volante is a double dough, shaped pizza, with lots of salami, nduja and cheese and egg as a bonus, the Al Fumo is a classic calzone full of various cheese types. Both of them are really rich, and highly recommended. We did not try their other dishes. Yet, I shall add as we must return for another round as their starters and salads also...
