The Singer Tavern located at the junction of City Road and Worship Street is an elegant building with deco features inside and out. The interior hearkens back to the days of the classic city venues with its huge dark wood bar and furnishings complimented by the white and green tiling on the walls. The bar is fantastically busy most days from 4pm and has enough space to allow up to eight deep at the bar! There is a great range of artisan ales as well as a well stock gantry which will cater for anyone’s taste. Very busy but welcoming staff ensure your wait for a libation is not overly long, even on my last visit which meant the Singer was rammed to the doors with seasonal revelers. I really like this place, and will return again and again when in London for business

BRITISH CLASSICS & NEXT-LEVEL COCKTAILS 📍 Shoreditch, London ⭐️ 4/5 💸 ££ Who knew your local pub could serve up such a delicious foodie experience? I visited @singer_tavern and was so pleasantly surprised — it’s not just about the good vibes (which it has plenty of!), but the food seriously delivers too. I went for their Beef Rump Steak Frites — juicy, tender steak served with golden skin-on fries, fresh watercress and the most indulgent peppercorn sauce 🥩🔥 Comforting and rich, this dish is a classic done very right. To drink, their Tommy’s Margarita is an absolute must! Fresh, zingy, and dangerously smooth 🍸 Honestly, one of the best margs I’ve had in London. Perfect spot for a relaxed, flavour-packed dinner — 100% coming back for the steak & marg combo!

Honestly had quite the 'hipster' vibe to it. Staff all seem to wear personal clothes rather than uniform and hair isn't necessarily tied back. My partner and I shared a desert (pictured), consisting of a small lava cake and a scoop of ice cream, which was £7. Might have to do with being from the North, but it seemed a bit much for such a small desert. However, it's quite big and there's lots of space to stand at the bar, sit down at a table, or just stand wherever.

Astoundingly bad customer service on several visits. My office is directly opposite so it is often the default venue for an impromptu after work drink but after last nights (2/6/2016) experience it has been boycotted by the office.

We ordered some drinks, after the usual lengthy wait to be served, and my colleague indicated he wanted to pay using his contactless debit card. The bar server held her hand out for his card but he asked, several times, "Can you bring the machine to me?" the card reader was less than 1 foot away from her but she refused and kept demanding his card.

The server then went to talk to someone else, who I later found out was the bar manager, she returned, literally snatched our drinks and said "You're not being served!" We were flabbergasted to say the least! My colleague indicated to the bar manager that he wanted to speak to him but he turned his back on us and spoke to the bar server, who was eating slices of cucumber behind the bar (hello Health & Safety!)

After it became apparent the manager wasn't going to talk to us I walked around the bar and asked him why we were being refused service to which he replied, "She said you were rude to her." I explained that all we had asked was that she brought the card reader to us as my colleague didn't like handing his card over to anyone and none of the other staff had issues taking the card reader to customers.

At that his response was, "Oh, she didn't tell me that, what were you drinking?" I told him not to bother as we wouldn't be drinking there again and perhaps in future he speaks with customers to ascertain the whole story rather than assuming they are always at fault.

This is also a bar that sells premium craft ales at £7-£9 a pint but don't inform you of the price as you order, so you have to always ask beforehand to ensure you don't get hit with a larger than...

We had our wedding reception here last week (8 September 2018). This place is a hidden gem and we feel so happy that we found it! Great value, beautiful setting, cool vibe, AMAZING food, wine & cocktails and hands down some of the most enthusiastic, fun and professional staff / service ever. Our guests are still raving about everything!

FOOD was beautiful and great value. Our friends are real foodies with high standards and they were ALL raving about the food (saying it was the "best wedding food they've ever had" and actually just amazing in its own right). They also accommodated many different dietary requirements. Hats off to Craig the head chef and his team. We enjoyed every bite.

STAFF were brilliant throughout, accommodating various requests in the run-up to the wedding. They set the venue up so beautifully for the day and were incredibly kind and professional with our guests. These guys are great at what they do and genuinely care about providing a high standard of service. They're also fun! This added to the warm vibe we had on the day.

DECOR - The venue itself is stunning. Go see for yourself, it looks even better than in the photos (but it also photographs beautifully!)

DRINKS - Cocktails were expertly mixed and added a sense of fun to the occasion. They went down a treat with our guests. The bar staff were awesome.

VALUE FOR MONEY - Last but not least: we felt that everything was great value. Some of the wedding venues we looked at, both in and outside London, felt like a rip-off. With the Singer Tavern, we felt we had honest pricing that meant we could give our guests a great time without breaking the bank and most importantly, without feeling like we were paying "wedding...

If you haven’t been served by Danny at Singer Tavern, you haven’t truly lived. This man isn’t just a bartender—he’s a cocktail sorcerer, a mixology maestro, and quite possibly the eighth wonder of the world. From the moment you approach the bar, Danny’s presence alone elevates your night. His knowledge of spirits? Encyclopedic. His flair? Unparalleled. His ability to craft the perfect drink, tailored exactly to your mood and taste, is nothing short of wizardry.

But it’s not just about the drinks—oh no. Danny delivers an experience. His charisma is magnetic, his banter is razor-sharp, and his energy lights up the entire room. Need a recommendation? He’ll find your new favorite drink before you even know what you’re craving. Feeling down? His infectious enthusiasm will turn your night around. Watching him work behind the bar is like witnessing a finely choreographed dance—precision, style, and an effortless cool that belongs in a Hollywood movie.

Singer Tavern is already a top-tier spot, but Danny is the reason it’s legendary. If there were a Hall of Fame for bartenders, he’d be the first inductee. Do yourself a favor—get yourself to Singer Tavern, ask for Danny, and prepare for a night you’ll never forget.

Five stars? Not enough. Someone give this man...
