Souvlaki Delivered — Restaurant in London

A perfect place for Cyprus dinner right here in Southgate.

I had the immense pleasure of having dinner here. Tonight I had the Macaroni in the Oven, aka "Makaronia tou Fourno". It's basically macaroni mixed with minced beef with a creamy top. The quality is so good that this is the sort of thing one's grandmother would have cooked in Cyprus. Very filling, and delicious. It came with a beautifully colourful salad with some cheese.

To go with that I had a bottle of Lemonade called Loux. A wonderful addition to go with any meal.

The interior design is nice, well lit, and comfortable. Clean tables and chairs. The staff are nice and friendly. The only downside is that there is a constant drift of wind that can make one feel cold.

Previously I came here for the cheese burgers which are also delicious.

We took a detour from our usual Greek restaurant and have to say we didn't regret it. George was very likeable, helpful, knowledgable and most importantly passionate about the menu. All main dishes and sides were excellent; the spicy feta dressing which George persuaded me to try was unique and something I normally wouldn't lean towards. My wife doesn't give many compliments but she said her lamb souvlaki was better than our usual go to souvlaki place. Perhaps the tzatziki could and should have been distributed more evenly through the dish but that was easily put right at home. Good value for money also. I've had the vegan burger from here twice, but both time, by the time I got home, the bun had turned to mush. I think this is to do with the amount of filling - it's seriously stacked. So much so, that even if the bun wasn't soggy, there's no way I could have picked it up to eat it. Both times, I had to throw the bun away, then spread the burger and toppings over the plate to eat. The fillings are good, but having to throw the bun away defeats the object. Fries and...
