This standout Indian restaurant is just 10 minutes’ walk from the Crane River Walk (follows the river Crane through west London through a mixture of urban parks and surprisingly rural woods and forests) and so is an ideal midpoint or endpoint for a hike along this river or an outing for Sunday lunch (or Saturday dinner during the summer months). I'd ordered from the owner's home-cooking takeout service before this restaurant visit -- which was unparalleled in its deliciousness -- and so I was excited to try the dine-in experience. It did not disappoint. The lamb tikka, lamb saag, and spiced tea stood out, but we also tried a couple of chicken dishes which were very flavoursome. A lovely hiking destination (from Richmond, St Margarets, and Twickenham), with delicious food at its end: now that's a winning combination!

These photos do not do justice to the incredibly delicious food served at Spice Up. Having tasted a fair amount of Indian food in Twickenham including T’saretta Spice and Shiuli, I can definitely say the food here is the best in Twickenham and the best value too. The faves are all there, onion bhajis, samosas and Butter chicken, but also lots of very special dishes. Make sure you try the gol gappas and aubergine curry. Lovely family vibe here. Take your kids, they will love the food too.

Update September 2025: Treated myself to a takeaway biryani and samosas. Fabulous! Just had a fabulous lunch here. For starters, we had veggie samosa, chicken tikka and lamb kebabs. The samosas are second to none. The lamb kebabs are very flavourful. Then we had lamb saag and dhaba chicken. The lamb saag was outstanding; the saag is just as good as the saag my mum makes. You must have the masala chai - the perfect drink to go with the amazing food.

This is a hidden gem . It was recommended to us and we first went to try the food at the restaurant which was excellent - a wide range of dishes all cooked well and presented beautifully . Sheetal and the team then catered my 50th to a very high standard . Sheetal was very involved from the start and worked with us to plan catering and staff for the event to our budget and guests tastes — no detail was too small and she was very good at responding to all my queries as well as providing lots of great suggestions on timings and menu . On the day - well wow . The team onsite were fantastic - efficient , friendly and left my kitchen spotless and the food was excellent and again beautifully presented and served up - our friends are still talking about it ! Thank you so much and I would highly recommend both to eat in and cater. As someone who is Indian and cooks Indian food I would say the food by Sheetal and her team is incredibly authentic and tasty . Sheetal really cares about what she does and delivers to a very high standard . Thank...

Spice Up is one of the finest family-owned dinner spots I've been to. The food is delicious. No matter what spice level you request, it doesn't compromise on flavour - which more often than not, other restaurants struggle with. I went there with a large group of people, and we ordered so much food that I cannot recall every individual dish to share in this review. We had the chaat, tried a bunch of different curries and biryanis too. The venue has a delightful ambience, great for both, a cozy dinner or a larger gathering.

I hosted a dinner party to surprise a friend on his birthday, and the service I received there was unmatched! So full of heart. They supported me with coordination, and really went the extra mile by setting up the tables with a celebrative touch. Cheers to the Spice Up Team!

If you're wondering where to eat tonight, don't think twice! Please go to Spice Up, you'll have a...

I've eaten here 4 times now. Food is freshly prepared and flavours are different. Not a one sauce does all restaurant! Service is quick and very good. The owner is very friendly and is keen to please her customers. The menu is small but this ensures that dishes don't have the same flavour.

We took another couple to our first supper club there. A different experience as food is not chosen by the diner. A feast is delivered in courses. We didn't think it was necessary to have the Indian channel TV on as it was quite noisy in there with about 24 diners. The food was of a very high standard. We were given a complimentary bottle of prosecco for our table and Indian beer if we wished. Being able to take your own alcohol keeps the bill lower.

A lady was doing henna tattoos and had some Indian jewellery for sale. An...
