St Christopher's Inn Pub — Restaurant in London

Came out saying - it was okay!!! High end prices, let down by service. Firstly, they take your card when you order and keep it behind the bar until after the meal. Not sure this is secure.

Quite noisy , pub at front filled by groups of men. ( not an.issue) but the noise follow down into the restaurant

There are only about 7 table's in the Back of the pub and the noise echos around. Next to it are group seating for the pub area and I was treated to the on going of one young ladies love life for 30 mins.

Menu is limited, and does not explain the dishes. Waitress was blunt, I enquired what came with my dish (roast pork belly) and she stated mash of course !, there was no alternative. I called her back to ask if there was any veg with my dish, , which I hoped there was for £12.50) and she repeated there was mash and pointed to lady sat opposite who had just been served the same dish. I was then advised of I wanted a side of roast.veg, I could pay £3.50 more. When I arrived it had more potatoes,a few slices of carrot and parsnip all boiled defiantly not roasted. The main was a huge bowl of mash, a large piece of pork belly fat, with about 1inch.of meat and a little grave already poured on the dish, none extra. Yes it all tasted very.nice, but it was overwhelmed by the mash and lack of gravy. My husband had a £16.steak, which was served with chips and peas and salad, it was cold. The plate was cold and the food had gone cold. We paid £9 each for a glass of wine which was not great. There was only 2 desert choices, so we opted for coffee and asked for the bill ( which we ended up going to the bar to pay, 20 mins later) err still had to stand and wait. Mens toilets were dirty! Awful service! The staff is incredibly unhelpful and impolite. We tried to extend our stay using the app, but the message directed us to go to the reception. The receptionist assured us everything would be fine, even checked us in for the next day, giving us different keys and a code. However, the next day, we were told to wait until 3 PM to check back in, and they claimed there was nothing they could do. When we protested, the receptionist firmly insisted there was nothing she could do. All our belongings were in the room, and when we mentioned this, she seemed dismissive. After making us wait, she finally completed our check-in, but her attitude was unpleasant. Our experience since arriving has consistently been disappointing, with long waits for service at the reception, especially at night. Our roommates received free drink coupons, but we didn't, which seems unfair and inconsistent. I also visited another location on the same street just for laundry, and it was another disaster, but at least the reception there was outstanding.

Furthermore, at around 8:00 in the morning, the housekeepers were loudly talking and shouting, making it an extremely noisy environment where you could hear everything in the room. When I asked for them to be quiet, one of them gave me a strange, confrontational look. I strongly advise against staying at this particular location.

Please note that the place is crowded with lots of people, there's loud music, and you can hear everything happening downstairs all the way up to the room. Thankfully, they do...

UPDATED AFTER RESPONSE

I came here to watch the football and they put out the same food menu on every table. When I went to the bar to order food, the price which the amount came up to was nearly double what was on the menu. The reason for this? "sorry this is an old food menu". Then why put it on every single table? Unfortunately I already tapped my card and then requested a refund after hearing the total. Then was told that it takes 5 working days to receive a refund. That's the first time I've ever been told that, normally companies just issue a refund using the card machine but here they said differently.

Thankfully I have enough money, but for someone else who may not have been able to afford it and then wait 5 days for a refund.. is absolutely ridiculous. To be fair, the waiter seemed new and didn't seem like he knew anything. But totally unprofessional how they provide food menus on every table with the incorrect prices. I won't be returning, unless I do not get my refund.

EDIT 16/12: I have called over 10 times and no one picks up the phone here. Even when I call directly after an engaged call, no one picks up. I've tried in the morning when they open and throughout the day.

They have not even rejected my payment which they have taken! I'm now having to log a dispute case with my bank because even though they stated it was refunded it hasn't been! I have literally been scammed here and paid for money for food and drinks which I...
