Horrendous! Ordinarily I won’t post reviews of poor statue however, on this occasion the management/owners need to know what’s being served and how it’s being served.
Firstly we were ‘walk ins’ as known in the restaurant industry - we were left standing whilst the staff discussed whether we were going to be seated or not! Not a good start! Welcome your customers with warmth and a smile! The words yes of course we have a table, lovely to see you and thank you for choosing to dine with us would not have gone amiss!! (Don’t take your customers for granted).
The food! Onion Bhaji’s dreadful! Gloopy and inedible, along with being tasteless. Chicken Biriani, over salted beyond, Luke warm and all in all an unpleasant taste…… Chicken Tikka Masala, was very average, not enough spices and overall luke warm. Pilau rice left a lot to be desired. Tasteless and also not hot at all. When you see a customer has left 80% of the meal would you not want to ask if everything was alright. That goes to show the standard of the waiting staff, unengaged and there to earn their money with no interest in the business whatsoever. I run a business also, and incentivise my staff to engage with clients and let them leave with a smile on their faces (the customers that’s is) mind you if the staff had a smile on their faces that would have gone a long way.
I’ve been dinning in this restaurant for several years and have found the food and service to be of a better standard than that of my latest visit. I’ve also had food delivered from the restaurant that had been very good in the past. Sadly standards have wilted terribly both in quality of the food and the calibre of waiting staff.
I for one will not be returning. Businesses thrive on repeat business, continue in the same trajectory and watch your restaurant fail! Take a step back and analyse what you’re doing wrong. Reviews like this one are damaging.
Apologies for being so harsh but I...
Read moreStrange experience. This was our first visit and it happens to be the favourite Indian restaurant of very good friends of ours (edit: they no longer eat here, no longer like!). We arrived with no booking and they reluctantly gave us a table for one hour (they did not need the table in an hour as there were many free tables, all said we would not have been able to leave in an hour, but I will come to that). We basically just wanted a quick dinner so ordered a few poppadoms and our main dishes: three tables (two tables were seated after we placed our order) that arrived and ordered after us received their starters and main courses before us. The restaurant is not that big, the staff did not check on us and we were brushed off when we did enquire about our food. About the food: my fish masala was very nice . My wife’s chicken dish was Ok. The poppadom’s were poor, you are given very basic chutney and no chopped onion. Staff , well the gentleman who served us seemed to have no interest in our table (was always polite). I think to get the best from the restaurant you should choose the grilled meats, that’s what most seemed to be enjoying. Prices are very good comparative to other local India restaurants. Will we go back? No. We were not treated like paying guests and just forgotten and ignored when we asked about our food (no apology if it had been missed by the kitchen). Disappointed. Conclusion, they must have become complacent by their...
Read moreWe’ve been ordering and eating in at this restaurant for multiple years. Never have we had an issue however we had a long flight home and ordered sun and sand for delivery. Again something we do often. I was missing the roti I had ordered along with some chicken wings. I called sun and and sand and happened to speak directly to the manager, who flat out accused me of lying and said he had packed the bag himself and it’s definitely in there. We checked both bags 3 times whilst he was still on the phone and I assured him it wasn’t. He was adamant it was and refused to help further. We asked him to check with his driver in case he’d missed it out or dropped it and he refused to. He then said we can collect it if we want to but he knows it’s definitely in there. My husband then took the phone and said he’d come and collect and that he didn’t appreciate being called a liar. My husband went to collect the missing items (in his pjs!!) where the same manager told him that he was lying and he would give it anyways and that we should not come back ever again. Disgusting behaviour from a hospitality sector and from somewhere we are regulars at. Someone needs to speak to this man about manners and customer service because honestly that was just shocking behaviour. Baring in mind we paid for...
