We ordered two garlic naans, 1 chicken dish and 1 plate of rice. The food had good taste.
I visited the restaurant a little time ago with my friend. We had searched it online but when we went to the place we couldnāt find the restaurant, we called them and they took us to another nearby Indian restaurant and said that this is attached to that other restaurant. Both were indian and halal so we went in.
There were burning candles on all the tables but there was no other customer around when we went inside. We chose a table and all the tables were very close to the wall so we did a little but struggle to get in. The owner of the restaurant starting telling us story about why they have two restaurants listed on google maps. We didnāt ask for it and were not interested but he still told us all the story.
Then we asked for menu and we were thinking about what to order and the server came to ask and asked if we would like papadum. We thought it was a bit weird but we said no and after some time we asked him to take the order.
We told him we want 1 chicken dish and two naans with diet cokes. He looked surprised and kept pushing us to order more. He said this is not enough for two people. We kept telling him for about 1-2 minutes that we only want this but he was very insistent. Then I got fed up abd asked if he could just bring these or not. He said yes he could and then he left.
After some time one other customer came and he ordered something. About 20-30 min later we got our food and it was enough for us two and we realised that maybe they donāt get enough customers thatās why they wanted us to order more. The food was good but at the end they didnāt give us a proper receipt. It was a handwritten receipt and that too they gave us when we asked for it and we paid by card. Later on when we got home and checked the receipt all the things written were not readable. It was very bad writing and we figured out they charged us some 4.5 pounds extra other than service charges.
It was a very bad experience even though the food was good. I will never go to this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCozy, neighbourhood Indian restaurant with a menu featuring the classic dishes. I've visited this place a few times lately and it's always a great experience. Waiters are attentive, without hovering over you annoyingly. I'm vegetarian and there's a really good selection to choose from. Love the tikka paneer, onion bhajis & their naan bread is great - lovely & light without being doughy - but honestly, all the dishes I've had here have been good. You can take your own alcohol so it ends up being a very affordable evening - cheaper than going to the pub these days. There was actually one occasion we queried the bill because it was LOWER than we were expecting, when it was in fact correct. Always nice when you feel like you're getting a bargain! Overall, delicious food, good atmosphere and excellent value for money. If you're anything like me, once you've been here it's likely to become a favourite you''ll want to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe interior is clean and the person serving is a pleasant man. The salted lassi was good. That's where the good things end. I am from Mumbai and when I was presented with Dahi-puri after ordering sev-puri, and confidently told that this is what sev-puri is, I was annoyed. Never mind, I thought and I will have that anyway. The puri (fried wheat ball) reeked of stale oil. I can still feel it in my throat! Had to return it and wasn't charged of course for that. I also ordered rava (Semolina) dosa which turned out to be uttappam with a very spicy mix veg on the side. My partner had tandoori chicken starter which was bright red in colour with non specific taste. Shame really after reading lots of good reviews here. Of course, those who enjoy can carry on but for those who were born in India, the food is nowhere Indian and cheap...
