Extremely disappointing service - avoid if you value your time and respect.
I’ve ordered from Sweets Town Grill in Wood Green multiple times, and every time I’ve given them the benefit of the doubt. But I’ve had enough.
My last order took over 1.5 hours to arrive, and instead of taking accountability, they simply blamed the delivery driver the same excuse they’ve used repeatedly. What’s worse is they intentionally avoid using Uber Eats drivers, likely to hide their real delivery times from public reviews and tracking.
Half their menu is always out of stock, and you're forced to substitute items which is not a good look for a business that claims to offer variety.
The final straw? Every time I’ve called in to ask for an update, I’ve been spoken to by the same woman (South Asian accent — either Indian or Pakistani), and she consistently has a condescending, dismissive tone, offering no help or reassurance. She cuts the call short with a "it's the driver, bye" and then hangs up mid conversation. This just happened again today, and it’s incredibly rude and unprofessional.
This kind of customer service is unacceptable, and I refuse to turn a blind eye any longer. People deserve to know what they're getting into. Poor communication, long delays, limited menu, and zero...
Read moreIF I COULD GIVE A 0 I WOULD! I recently visited sweets town shop that had a special offering: "School Cake," which I had high hopes for given its nostalgic name. Unfortunately, this cake was a major letdown. We payed extra for custard which came in a tiny little dish. We had to ask for more and it was still not enough. The cake looked somewhat appealing at first glance, with a colourful frosting that promised sweetness. However, upon closer inspection, it was clear that the decoration was more style than substance. The taste was where things really fell apart. The cake was dry and crumbly, lacking the moistness one expects from a good dessert. The frosting, while vibrant, was overly sweet and almost artificial, overshadowing any flavor the cake might have had. It felt like a sugar overload without the balance of subtle flavors. The "School Cake" left me wishing I had chosen something else. It felt more like a missed opportunity than a delightful dessert. If you're in the area, I would recommend skipping this one and opting for somewhere else. There are plenty of other desert places that are likely to satisfy your sweet tooth without the...
Read moreOrdered from here on Uber Eats for the first time since they took over 12th street burgers. I was skeptical due to a negative interaction with the owner during the construction phase but was pleasantly surprised.
The smash stack fries were lovely, I would've preferred more cheese and less chipotle sauce but was nice none the less.
The deep fried Oreos (3 piece) were nice also, I had asked for sauce on the side in the notes but that wasn't noticed/read so be wary (luckily there white & milk chocolate sauces where very nice), requested alterations may not be seen/applied. I would say the single stuff Oreo is a little thin and dry inside, I've always had double stuff deep fried Oreos which are amazing but I'm sure the single stuff helps keep costs down for customers.
I did also order there churros which weren't great. They were pretty chewy and couldn't finish them because of this, it may be they just don't travel well and are perhaps nicer if eating in but I won't be ordering them again.
The delivery driver was nice too and followed my in app delivery...
