I may be a bit spoiled with having eaten amazing Japanese food but this one didn't make the grade. It was OK for the price, specially with the 15% off for takeaway (we later found out that 25% off on delivery so probably better to do that). We had vegetable spring roles which were average. The sushi was OK but had better in Central London. The ramen wa the better of the bunch but still there is better for around the same price. The seaweed salad was good. It is good if you live in the area and want to pick up/deliver some cheaper Japanese.

It’s reasonable fusion but still needs improvements. Sashimi was decent, but was missing condiments with it I.e. soy sauce and wasabi. Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen is edible but noodles are so so quality and soup was sweet not spicy. We were also offered complementary miso soups but didn’t get any in our takeaway bag. I think it’s ok that Taru is not authentic and more of fusion but customer service needs to be more organised without forgetting things by giving poor first time experience.

Unfortunately terrible experience. Ordered varied pieces of sushi, sashimi and nigiri. The rice in the sushi and nigiri was old and hard - we had to peel off the fish to enjoy what we could. Thankfully the miso soup and sashimi weren’t bad, but unfortunately it didn’t make up for almost £40 spent. Not sure if this is the difference between takeout and in-person dining, but I’d recommend avoiding ordering takeaway unless you make sure the rice and sets were made fresh.

Rice was not fresh. Worse even: salmon wasn't fresh, and parts of it had a strong, unhealthy flavor. Makis had had at least three days in the fridge. Wasabi and ginger were horrible. If you plan to eat there, take into account that there's only one minuscule table outside, and they give you the food packed to go anyway. I had to ask for a glass for my water and I've got a paper cup. Update: by unhealthy flavor in the salmon I mean it was past due in the borders. You claim you made the roll a few minutes before, but rice was very cold and heavy, not fresh in the least. And it was way colder than the rice in the nigiris, and the nori was very dump, so the roll itself had had many hours in the fridge for sure. And what's wrong about the small table and the paper cup? The site says that you offer dine-in (I don't remember if it was Maps profile or your actual web site). No matter the discount, if I invite my date for a sushi meal I'm sure I'll be very embarrassed. I understand that your business is up to your standards, but others might have different standards and that's why I provided concrete examples of...

DAY AFTER EATING I WAS VOMITING AND CRAPPING all at the SAME TIME, ALL DAY LONG!!!! The rice was compacted, and the gyozas microwaved with a disgusting crust plus everything was just a mush of the same bland -left in the fridge then reheated the next day- flavour, which I know VERY well. The dessert called cheesecake was literally 3mushy balls of mochi paste that resembled a washing machine pod, both in aspect and taste. All in all it was appalling, money down the frigging toilet. Close this cesspool already 🤮

EDIT: YES, I only reviewed 3 other places and all of them got 1 star (seeing as that is this disgusting restaurant excuse) because I'm busy, and I only take the time to write lengthy, specific reviews if the food is terrible. Learn from your mistakes and be lucky I don't sue you for giving me...
