Went here for after work drinks. Booked a table for 20 people for 2 hours and paid a deposit. I arrived at 4:40 pm the door was open so I just walked straight in, some of my colleagues had said that they were going to get there early so I decided to check out the terrace area to see if they had arrived. When I got to the terrace it was empty. Then suddenly a woman from the floor above called out to me "excuse me how did you get in here" erm through the open/ unlocked door I apologised and explained I was looking for my work colleagues, she was very cold and rude, flatly stated that they weren't open until 5pm. I had loads of stuff with me as it was my leaving do so I patiently picked up my many bags and headed back down the stairs. I thought I. Istve gone to the wrong place so double checked the address on the whatsapp. While I was doing this, some of my work colleagues walked towards me. They went to go inside (now 15 mins to 5pm) rudely told that they weren't open and to wait (same lady as before). We acquiesced but then my colleague said it was ridiculous to be stood on the pavement with 3 carrier bags, 2 bottles of prosecco and 3 bunches of flowers so she asked if we could sit inside and wait. Apparently this was met with a huff, eye roll and reluctant OK. I didn't see her again so maybe she made herself scarce at 5pm, we had all joked that maybe she turns on at 5pm and resembles someone that should work in hospitality but saw little evidence of it. The cocktails were tasty and the barman that served them was polite and helpful. The whole place was in need of a good clean, we were hit with that stale booze smell upon arrival, sticky floors etc. The terrace had dirty tables and ashtrays with old cigarettes (this was before 5pm). Bit...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had the unfortunate experience of visiting Tequila Mockingbird in Wimbledon, and I must say, it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, I was met with the rudest, most arrogant bar staff I have ever encountered.
Firstly, let's address the elephant in the room: their appalling treatment based on nothing but the colour of my skin. After purchasing a drink and attempting to enjoy my evening, I was inexplicably told to leave the bar. Why, you ask? Well, according to the bouncers/bar staff, it seemed my presence didn't align with their arbitrary standards. How absurd is that? As if the mere sight of me was enough to warrant expulsion.
But it didn't end there. Oh no, it got worse. When I dared to question their ludicrous decision, the bar staff responded with nothing short of aggression. Imagine being accosted for simply trying to understand why you're being kicked out of an empty bar. It's utterly preposterous! What kind of establishment refuses service to paying customers for no apparent reason?
And let's not even get started on their complete lack of basic communication skills. Engaging in a civil conversation with them proved to be an insurmountable challenge. It's as if they left their manners and intellect at home, incapable of stringing together a coherent sentence beyond a GCSE level.
You people are insufferable!!
The doormen weren't just jerks, they were accomplices! After some yapping back and forth, things got physical. But here's the kicker: these so-called security guards called in random barflies to CHOKE my friend! This isn't a misunderstanding, it's DANGEROUS and utterly DISGUSTING. Owners, if you think I'm making this up, CHECK YOUR DAMN...

Firstly, there is a clothing policy, be aware as this is not communicated well. It is on the site FAQs but its not easy to find. A friend booked our table and so i had no way of knowing this dress code before arriving.
Secondly. Its a cocktail bar trying to be a nightclub. The DJ was unnecessary and had such poor control of volume. Within each song he was changing the volume. I get turning down so people can sing along.... but when you return to the usual volume it should be consistent... not ear splitting.
The drinks themselves were not very enjoyable (at least the ones we tried).
The mango chilli margarita tasted overwhelmingly of sour mix and barely any tequilla. I couldnt taste the mango at all, it was finished with a "dusting" of chilli powder on the rim. The drink itself had no identifiable chilli flavour and by this method you could make a chilli version of any drink. The presentation was also dreadful. The chilli powder was not just around the rim...but down the entirity of the glass. (The picture shown is where i tried to tidy it up a bit moving the chilli powder with my finger)
Every 10 minutes we had really invasive table service (not to be served drinks but where staff came up asking if we had finished with our drinks to take the glasses away) I felt like i was being rushed through my drinks and it really detracted from the evening.
The whole evening left a sour taste (and not just from the margaritas). I'm sure some people would love the atmosphere but this type of bar, I think is not...
