The Old Frizzle — Restaurant in London

A three star that should have easily been a 4.5 star if it weren’t for a number of staff indiscretions. I ordered a Peach Jubel pint and a Flat Iron Steak. Beer arrived swiftly and bar tender was kind enough to bring my cockapoo a fresh bowl of water (5 stars). I ordered over the app, very convenient and forced to pay 10% gratuity - which I would normally reserve based on the service received. I requested the fat chips be replaced with fries - which fell of blind eyes or deaf ears. The flat iron steak, in my experience, is one cut that one can quite easily be cut wrong that renders it tough. In which case I think the chef should cut the steak for you and serve it cut - as advertised on the menu. Unfortunately it did not arrive that way and so my steak meal was tough. The bernaise sauce was delicious albeit too thick - obv standing around for a long time. And the fat chips, well who likes deep fried baked potatoes anyways, especially with steak. Had disappointing experience. Booked with colleagues for leaving dinner. Was at bar waiting for everyone to get drinks and order food. Got to 20.01 after everyone else had ordered and was told I was unable to order food as the kitchen closed at 20.00. I was aware of this but I had been standing at the bar for around 10 minutes waiting. The rest of my party of 9 had already ordered. I asked the bar staff to check again with the kitchen and was told no. The bar staff asked once more and I was allowed to order. I can’t believe they were prepared to let me be the only one at my table without food when I was waiting to order at the bar and it was only 20.01. I appreciate there has to be a cut off point for the kitchen but what happened...
