A pub which charged £5 entry but did not serve drinks on New Years Eve. Was NOT informed of this when we paid £5 entry fee at 11:45pm or would have driven elsewhere went out to source a drink to see in the New Year as staff ignored us at the bar (no explanation) then other customers told us they had announced before we got there that they stopped serving at 11:45 (which is kind of the crucial time when they should be serving). Had to drive to the nearest shop and when we returned from the shop just before midnight friend was embarrassingly asked to leave immediately due to bringing his externally bought drink inside to find the rest of the party but host would not return our entry fee although politely requested. The rest of the party of 5 had come earlier paying £2 entry fee and we bought a couple of rounds before going to collect friend who paid £5 at 11:45. Publicly embarrassed and rather shocked that a pub takes money for entry without informing us that it does not sell alcohol at the one time when the whole country expects to be prepared to raise a glass then complains when willing customers are forced to resort to other means just to see in the New Year and to make it worse did not refund the entry fee either. They have lost a regular customer who would have willingly bought drinks at their bar had they bothered to serve them. Spoiled the New Year. Will not be going...
Read moreIt was very nice there. The cook and the women who took our order were really friendly. The only thing why I don't have them full stars is because they only serve food from 3pm (we visited Thursday) which is okay but it isn't written anywhere. Lucky we only had to wait half an hour and the serving was really fast! Everything was delicious but I noticed that my burger was dry. Not bad dry but they had no sauce in there. I don't know if that is a common thing in GB but they had like little samples of sauce given to you (Something with oil, mayo, ketchup, mustache and another one with oil. I needed the mayo and ketchup for the fries which are served automatically to the food). Some random tip: The beer there is much cheaper than the cola. So better go with beer unless...
Read moreVisited Arms for the first time. The pub is in Tottenham, not too far from Bruce Grove, but is quite hidden. It's not easily found if you don't know the area. With that said, inside is very sizeable, and its layout is quite quaint. There's also an extension at the back that seems to take up part of the garden, bringing a bit of the outside in. Doors separate the extension from the main pub. Which is useful, as it can get chilly when left open.
The pub offers, among other things, live music and performances, dancing, wheelchair accessible entrance, and dining. As I didn't eat, unfortunately I can't rate the food. The atmosphere was clean and friendly with a mixture of ages and cultures. Staff were...
