Juicy Roots — Restaurant in London

Had an amazing experience with the quality of the food at Juicy Roots. I have been here on two separate occasions and walked away happy each time. I went on a Sunday evening the first time around 7:00pm at that time oxtail and curry goat had already been sold out so, I purchased rice and peas with curry chicken to go. Food was wrapped nicely and was still hot when I got home to eat it. Rice and peas was very tasty, you can taste the coconut milk but it wasn't over powering. The curry chicken was excellent. Just the right amount of seasoning..even the bones were delicious. I went back on a Tuesday afternoon and got red peas soup, rice peas with oxtail and a slice of rum cake. The peas soup was extra yummy, it left me feeling satisfied! The oxtail was tender and overall delicious. The rum cake was delicious as well. The price of the food is decent, almost cheap as I have been to other Jamaican spots where I paid more money for the portions I receive at Juicy Roots. It's not really a restaurant but there are tables and chairs for eating in house. The cashier was very friendly to me. I will note it takes roughly 10 mins for an order to be completed so, you will have a little waiting to do. But overall, one of the best Jamaican spots in London. I can’t recommend Juicy roots highly enough. Cassandra, Bobby and their team cooked and served the food for our wedding breakfast. They were so friendly and accommodating from start to finish. We sat with them and did a menu tasting of the menu of our choice. They were happy to assist with any changes we made and completely reduced any worries we had about the vast dietary requirements.

The food at the tasting was amazing and it tasted even better at the wedding everything from the fish, the jerk chicken (which was cooked on site with a jerk pan) to the chickpeas and my favourite the curry goat. Juicy roots made the additional recommendation of hiring the plates and cutlery from them. Which made everything run so smoothly. They didn’t hesitate to get into contact and liaise with other members of our origination team if they needed a question answered about the big day. Casandra, Bobby and their team went beyond expectations with the food at the wedding breakfast there was plenty to go round and they always made sure there was enough food on the tables. So much that we even got to take some back to the hotel.

Thank you Cassandra, Bobby and your team we could not have asked for better caterers to make our day as special as it was. Just to add it was so good the guests are still talking about...

To be honest i would give this place less than 1 stars if possible. On Just Eat there ad clearly says that you have to spend a minimum of £12.50 to have a delivery made to your address and to my surprise when i called and made my order they then turned and told me that they will be charging me an extra £2 more to make it £15 to get it delivered to my house. I was very disappointed by this as i had carefully picked out my meal to make sure it reached £12.50. The woman that spoke to me was ignorant and told me if i didn't pay then i would have to take it up with the driver. She has no sense and instead of trying to avoid an argument developing with the driver she was more than happy to encourage it. I told them i will not be paying the extra charge as it does not state that on the website and they CANCELLED my order. I do not recommend this place to eat from as all they want is your money and to make things worse they just went onto Just Eat and changed their delivery status to FREE. Such a lie.
