i would really advise strongly against using the services of this restaurant .ive used them three times and never again. im an experienced waiter of many years standing and have never and would never give such bad service to a customer or i wouldnt have a job.my first time ordering a received a call after some time asking to come down to a car to pick up my food.i informed the driver to ring my bell(i live in a house)and bring my food to me.he then buzzed my bell and came up the stairs huffing and puffing as if i was putting him out.he obviously doesn't understand what delivery means.he was so miserable i was really worried that my food could have been maliciously interfered with.i went through the same experience twice more although i always tipped him.i went to order again and was told we dont deliver to you anymore .use uber eats and the phone was dropped twice on me.this is so shocking im enraged and words fail me that this kind of attitude happens in the uk.if your driver doesent want to deliver get on that does want to.these points have already been covered in many other reviews, very negative experience and just generally very unpleasant.thank god there many other restaurants in the area ,so i dont have to give support to such...

I’ve been ordering from the bengal since I moved into my place around 20 years ago. The foods has always been amazing, fast delivery and well priced, which is why we've always chose the bengal over any other Indian in our area for so long. Yesterday I ordered and the driver arrived around 40mins later, very angry claiming he had been waiting 20 min when I hadn’t had any phone calls from him and our bell hadn’t been rang once. When my mum apologised he continued to scream at her for the next 10 mins and wouldn’t let her close the door. Hearing the noise I decided to check if my mum was okay, he then started becoming very aggressive to both of us. I’m 7 months pregnant so I decided the safest thing to do was to close and lock the door despite him still shouting. Not sure what the driver was expecting to achieve with this behaviour but it was extremely uncalled for and very unprofessional. Despite loving the food and being a loyal customer for so long I won’t be ordering from the bengal again since this has happened as I don't want this man to deliver to my door again and don’t think this is acceptable way to treat...

I have been visiting (eating in and takeaway) The Bengal Indian Restaurant for nine years, and am still keen on tasting the delicious authentic Indian and Bangladeshi food in The Bengal. I have tried many Indian Restaurants (highly recommended) in London and locally in Bayswater, the Bengal is one of them, and I must say the Bengal would be one of the top rated Indian Restaurant in London for not only the quality of food but also the value for money (much cheaper than many others) and generous portions. The wide range of cuisine including vegetables, fish (boneless), chicken, meat, fresh salads, very good selection of wine, beer etc. The place is spacious with two floors and good hygienic. Staff are very friendly and skilled. The chef really understands the order (of food) and cook accordingly, e.g. I always ask less spicy and less oil (as I maintain a specific healthy diet programme) and I am very pleased to say I have never been disappointed. I would highly recommend others (people) to try The Bengal on your own or with family and friends, or try a takeaway. I am sure you won't be...

Used to come here frequently when I lived just over the road on Gloucester Terrace until 2009. Have recently gone back and the place, the food and the staff are still just as great as they were years ago. Have since recommended The Begal to anyone who cares to listen and have had lots of good feedback from friends and business acquaintances. Keep up the good work! Absolutely smashing place!!! ——- Update two years later: consistently good quality, attentive and welcoming staff. Although not normally a fan of mild curries, I tried the chicken korma, coconut rice and peshwari naan and was absolutely not disappointed. For a place that hasn’t let me down once over the course of 10 plus years, 5 stars are completely in order.

I find it strange that two recent takeaway reviews awarded to this excellent Indian restaurant both have very low ratings. I suggest they come and actually eat in The Bengal, and they would see just how good the food is here. I have been coming here for many years and have never had a bad meal. I ordered a Chicken Tikka Naga and Pilau Rice. My sister ordered Broccoli, Spicy Dhal, and Peas Pilau Rice. The food was piping hot and beautifully cooked. The Naga sauce had a nice kick and was very spicy. The Broccoli dish, I've never seen anywhere else, tasted amazing.

They are incapable of delivering properly- they are so rude and make the experience of receiving your food a really bad one. The guy refused to walk 2 metres to my flat to deliver the food and left . Lots of other comments like this one. I will never order from here again and would advise you not to either. They need to learn basic manners and how to treat their paying customers with a bit of respect. And i’m ordering again and same happened when calling a restaurant he close the phone when i’m speek.
