From the moment we stepped out of our taxi, the staff at Novotel London Paddington exceeded all expectations. The warm welcome began even before we entered the building. One of the reception team members kindly opened the door for my mother, greeted us with a smile, and welcomed us to the Novotel. She proceeded to check us in efficiently while sharing helpful insights about the local area and dining recommendations. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name, but her warmth and professionalism set the tone for our stay.
When I mentioned that it was my mother’s birthday, the hotel went above and beyond to make it special. Upon entering our room, we were greeted by heart-shaped balloons, a birthday brownie, and a bottle of bubbles. This thoughtful gesture brought my mother to tears—a rare moment that I’ll never forget. It was a truly heartfelt experience that highlighted the staff’s attention to detail and dedication to guest satisfaction.
The Rooms and Facilities The bedrooms are a standout feature of the hotel, particularly due to the ability to open the windows, allowing for a breath of fresh air—a rarity in many hotels these days. The gym is open 24/7 and is well-equipped with everything you might need for a good workout. Additionally, the hotel boasts a swimming pool, steam room, and sauna, which add to the overall appeal of the property.
Dining Experience We enjoyed our complimentary welcome drinks in the bar before heading out to Wagamama, my mother’s favourite restaurant, for dinner. When we returned, the same receptionist greeted us and asked about our meal—a small but personal touch that made us feel genuinely cared for. To our surprise, she had left chocolates on the desk in my mother’s room—a delightful extra that brought another smile to her face.
Breakfast the next morning was equally memorable. The buffet spread was extensive, catering to all tastes, and the restaurant staff were incredibly attentive. They even went out of their way to make porridge for my brother, despite it not being on the menu. This level of service exemplified the team’s willingness to go above and beyond.

Read moreI think our stay was a little bit all over the place but overall i would highly recommend! I think this hotel is more of a couples hotel however there is a lot of families there! When we first got there it was a quick check in and straight to our rooms, was surprises how fancy it was there! One thing that was not mentioned was the pool.. you have to book it.. which is a bit annoying but i understand due to the pool area being small. I’m pretty sure the pool is open from 6:30am to 6pm but i could be wrong you can book multiple time during your stay as well! Breakfast was good a lot of option with cold and hot food but quite overpriced in my opinion.
One of the main issues that occurred was the other guests. Me and my partner booked the pool for 11am. During that time there was 3 other couples enjoying the pool, sauna and steam room. Toward 12pm everybody had left and this other younger looking couple (i’d say 20s) had come into the pool. I didn’t really see anything wrong with them when they first came in they just seemed a bit shy and to themselves. The male didn’t really get into the pool he just kind of sat there in a towel with his legs in but the female did. After about 3 minutes they both got out the pool and were messing around with the steam room, sitting in there and then getting out again and then going back in. The female left the door open every time which defeated the whole purpose 🙄 but anywho.. after the steam room has turned off (turns off after a while if door left open and you have to press a button to get it working again) they went back in there and just sat there in the dark. My boyfriend and i thought that was pretty weird but left them to it. Then.. we saw a flash of light and two shadows of moving bodies.. then came the moaning.. i was pissed! i told my boyfriend to get out and record what we was seeing. absolutely disgusting. 🤢 After about 5 minutes they came out like nothing happened and got STRAIGHT BACK INTO TO POOL!! tramps. We immediately reported them to reception as people started going into the pool for their slot and my main concern was as children getting in there in dirty water. Reception were quick and immediately spoke the couple and deep cleaned the leisure centre. They were absolutely flabbergasted and in shock with what we told them.
I still do not understand why they decided to do that when their hotel room was a 2 minute journey. Just disgusting behaviour. Clearly uneducated and ignorant people. But i’m sure this doesn’t happen all the time and i’d say just be aware and speak up if anything like this...
Read moreI spent 7 nights at the Novotel Paddington. The hotel is very well located, the primary reason why I have decided to stay here.
Arriving at Paddington station on the Heathrow Express, it took approximately 10 minutes to walk from the station to the hotel with my suitcases. If your luggage has wheels, the path to the hotel is fully paved and easy to navigate.
There are multiple eateries in the hotel area. The nearest grocery store (Sainsbury’s Local) is less than a 5-minute walk. The Elizabeth Line Underground station is just under a 10-minute walk.
My overall stay at the hotel was pleasant. Breakfast was tasty and had an assortment of options.
During my stay, I did not use the hotel’s well-being + pool facilities.
My room was on the 8th floor, a ‘Superior room with 1 queen size bed and sofa’. The room window was overlooking the train tracks and motorway (west pointing window). The noise coming from the trains/motorway below was not bothersome for me, but you do hear the trains approaching/leaving the station.
The room décor and amenities were ok, felt more like a 3-star hotel than a 4-star. The room did not feel cramped and should comfortably accommodate 2 persons.
The shower water pressure was good. Water was hot. Unfortunately, there is no ventilator in the bathroom so there will be a buildup of humidity. The basic toilet is in a separate room from the bathroom. Not the most comfortable seat.
Wi-fi was easy to connect to and the speed was fast. The TV channel selection was good as well, focusing on UK stations. The room has a safe that can fit a 15” laptop. The small fridge (large enough for 2-3 1.5-liter bottles) is empty and does not come equipped with a mini bar.
I found the room bed to be very comfortable and have had a good night’s sleep for the duration of my stay.
The reason I’m giving the hotel 4 stars is because of the price that I paid (A LOT). I feel that the hotel could have been better. As mentioned, the hotel felt more like a 3-star hotel than the 4-star hotel that is claims to be.
I know that the hotel prices in London are ridiculously expensive, but it comes down to how you feel about your personal experience and if the high price that you’ve paid felt worth it. It did not feel worth it to me, regardless of the hotel’s convenient location (if Heathrow Airport is your point of entry/exit to the UK). At a lower price point, I would consider...
