Pros
Two tube stations are on the street close a few minutes walk. Hyde park is just at the end of the street. Great variety of shops and cafes on street Friendly service Nice reception area Clean rooms Modern Dad stayed in a lower ground room, (the double studio) which was more spacious, it had a mini kitchen in the wardrobe, the air con also worked in this room. If I stayed again I would choose this over the level 3, room 1 double room I had. Even with dad’s lower ground room having no window.
If you arrive before 3pm and need a shower after a long flight, and don’t want to pay £20 per hour for early access, go to the Porchester Centre five minute walk up the road to swim, shower and change after a long flight. Explain that you are staying at the hotel and they will set you up an account and card, it costs about £7.
The hotel keeps your bags safe until your room is ready
Cons Air con in room 301 didn’t work, they offered a fan and said to ask the next morning when maintenance man was available. I didn’t bother as it wasn’t too hot. In reflection this meant leaving the window open, which meant waking a bit too early with the light and noise from the street (due to window open). It would be good if they fix this before the next guest, without the guest needing to ask.
Mattress in room 301 You can feel the metal springs very close to the surface of the mattress. Sleepable but felt like the mattress was due for renewal awhile ago. Surely you can’t buy a new mattresses that has springs that feel that close?
301 is by the lift, it wasn’t a problem. You hear people press the lift button, but everyone was quiet in the hallways. It wasn’t a nuisance for me.
Room size The room was very compact (type: double room), you have to use the bottom of the bed to open suitcase each day. No table or space to open it up on otherwise. But it is a capital city and space is at a premium.
I would stay again, for the service and location. But I would be specifying for a bed without springs close to the surface and also I’d book the lower ground...
Read moreAn absolute SCAM, do not trust these Google reviews, NOX Hyde Park have in the last few days somehow reset their Google reviews to hide the dozens of accurate negative reviews. An 'OK' location should not allow a hotel to disregard cleanliness, security and customer service. We stayed for two nights and while the rooms were TINY and unclean, it would have been acceptable for a place to sleep, wash and be a secure place to store our belongings. However the beds were rock hard with dirty bedding, the shower drains were completely blocked, and worst of all, staff entered our room while we were out all day despite "do not disturb" clearly being displayed and moved our possessions about in the room. Furthermore, on entering the room after being out all day, we were met with an EXTREMELY overpowering smell of fresh cannabis (despite the windows and doors being closed) which had caused our clothes to smell. On reporting this all to the front desk staff they came to the room and sprayed some air freshener claiming that it was 'not that bad' and offered nothing else, not even a room change. We emailed the manager to complain and despite the night staff's admission, the anonymous replier sent an extremely unprofessional reply that they "totally refute" our claim that there was a strong smell of cannabis and completely ignored our major issue in that staff had entered our room set to 'do not disturb' and moved our personal effects about!
This 'hotel' should be avoided at all costs - it is unclean, uncomfortable, unsecure, and the staff lack basic customer service skills. There is seemingly no central NOX management, so this removes any sense of security that the hotel is part of a managed chain. The smell of fresh cannabis in our room had absolutely come from within the hotel. Either it was carried through on the staff who disrespectfully came into our room or one might wonder why their building works seem to have been going...
Read moreI recently stayed at this lovely hotel, which has been beautifully renovated. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff was incredibly friendly. Special thanks to Sheri at the reception, who went out of her way to help us print our flight tickets—a small but very appreciated gesture!
The location is fantastic, just a short walk from Hyde Park, with the nearest metro and bus stations only five minutes away on foot. There are plenty of dining options nearby, including restaurants with great reviews on Google and well-known fast-food chains, making it convenient for any type of meal.
The rooms are on the smaller side, but they are well-equipped with everything you need. In addition to a large hairdryer (something you don’t often get in hotels), the room also had a coffee machine and a kettle for tea, both free of charge. They even provided little treats like chocolates and biscuits, which was a nice extra touch. The TV allowed us to watch Netflix, Prime, and Disney+, and there were USB charging ports, so we didn’t need an adapter for our devices.
The cleanliness was spot on. I noticed that the housekeeping staff is required to leave their phones at the reception to ensure they can't take photos, which I found to be a very professional and reassuring practice.
The only minor downside was the bathroom plumbing. Occasionally, the toilet didn't flush as well as it should have, but this is more of an issue with London's drainage system than the hotel itself. Despite that, I still give the hotel 5 stars overall because of the excellent service and attention to detail.
All in all, I had a wonderful stay and would highly...
