đHendon Central đşÂ ÂŁ4.80 Guinness
A Superb Traditional Irish Local.
The Bodhran is located just off a busy intersection of the A41 in Hendon. The nearest Tube is Hendon Central, itâs a two minute walk to get here.
This pub is a converted shop and opened its doors in 1995. This Irish boozer is named after an Irish drum called a âBodhrĂĄnâ.
This a good size boozer considering how narrow the frontage is. As you enter there is a decent size servery on the left. Opposite the servery is a group of poser tables with a superb mural of Irish Musicians above. If you follow the bar around to the left there is another room that has exposed brickwork and a cosy feel. At the back of the pub is a covered outside space which is popular with the locals.
The beer line up was straightforward no nonsense beers, cider and of course Guinness. I decided on a pint of Guinness, a true test of any Irish hostelry. My pint was excellent and cost less than a fiver. The pub doesnât serve food but there are plenty of Taytoâs to quell your hunger.
I visited with my mate on our way to see @saracensofficial which is a five minute taxi up the road. The pub was fairly busy with most punters here to watch the Merseyside derby. One thing I did notice was how diverse the clientele were, this was great to see. This pub loves its sport and shows live Premier League as well as GAA. Throughout the month there is live Irish Music to get your feet tapping.
This independent Freehouse was an enjoyable visit. The local feel, great Guinness and reasonable prices make this pub an attractive proposition to visit if youâre in the area.

Very nice customers from the table next to us had KFC, and other customers at another table were also eating some food, so we politely approached the bar and asked if they wouldn't mind if we ordered something too. Unfortunately, one slim and tall female bartender, for unknown reasons, physically attacked our friend but he still didn't say anything except "excuze me?, excuze me?", and first she hit him on the shoulder and then pushed him and she swears on him. We don't know if she confused us/him with someone or just had a bad day, but her aggression was incomprehensible and even the other bartender was surprised by this situation and wanted to talk to us, but the bartender told her that she wasn't allowed to approach us. We were surprised by such aggression and lack of professionalism. Tasty beer. Atmospheric place. The customers are very nice and the employees too, except for this aggressive, slim female bartender. The only rating is zero stars, but unfortunately you can put...
