Lets clarify the 'owners response' The avocado was not 30 seconds later, it was a good 2-3 mins later.. not a problem (i didn't say anything was wrong with that) 'Ready and Cut' IT WAS NOT, it was a half lump of avocado on a plate. There possibly could have been a slight cut in it.. But yes it was plonked, placed, stuck, put what ever you want to call it on top of the burger. The only person to apologized was the waitress, when she brought the Avocado out.. its not her fault, i told her to tell the chef my feelings- No one apologized about my complaint - as you state in your reply. I again complained at the end to a gentleman who said he would talk to the chef and i heard nothing more about it. The last time we had it - the Avocado was fanned and cut nicely and placed at the bottom of the burger. As would you see in any decent restaurant charging ~£17 for a burger. The point you are missing is its not about the Avocado being missed, its about the customer experience.

Visited Saturday evening.. lovely ambiance.. Ordered the Coborn Burger for my mum, she had it and loved it last time.. with Avocado. . Anyway they brought out the burger without the avocado. They brought this out separately on the side as a lump on a plate, anyway i asked if they could put it int he burger as they had served it before. the Female who looked after was lovely, anyway she brought it back, basically the chef had lifted it plonked it in the burger and sent it back out. My mum wanted it fanned out like she had it before. Look i know this is being pedantic, but when you are paying £17 for a burger you want what you want! I complained and the guy never even came back to apologies. I ordered a scotch egg and some bread, the bread tasted a day old and stale (i didn't complain about it) Enjoy your 2 stars,...

Nice atmosphere and good Sunday roasts. One of us was a vegetarian and had the Sunday beetroot-loaded nut roast. Very early on after being served we were asked by our waitress if everything was fine and it was then! During lunch 4 pretty good cooks in our group had a taste of the beetroot roast brick. It wasn't nice really - bland/stodgy/pretty dry. 3/4's of it was left In the end. The recipient of that meal hadn't enjoyed it. We decided to comment to one of the male managers. Our waitress then came over. In our opinion she responded by issuing a well-worn response to say firstly that she had asked earlier and we should've complained then. Also that this dish had been on the menu for a year or so and was very well received. The attitude wasn't rude, but was pretty stern, making it clear really that: a/ We were in the wrong for complaining when we did, and b/, this customer couldn't be right since her opinion didn't count, compared to other feedback on the dish.....One in our group had done her job in the past in very good gastro pubs and was shocked by the response. We comprised of a group who don't complain, unless something really is unsatisfactory. That veggie dish was...maybe it was just an off-day for that recipe? Worse still, and the reason for this rare negative feedback from us was the way the polite complaint was handled. Pretty good meat roasts all round though. Great local venue, but not sadly so for our next family roast, based on...

I came in alone for a Sunday roast but hadn't booked. I asked the staff behind the bar if there was a table for one and was told that I could sit anywhere without a 'Reserved' sign on it. I took a seat at a table opposite the bar.

After 10 mins, nobody had come to take my order, so I had to download the 'Order to table app', which took a while as I had to download, register and then sign in.

My drink promptly arrived, and food wait was reasonable - not too slow, but not very fast.

The roast was delicious - the meat (pork belly) was hot, juicy and perfectly cooked, with crispy crackling. Decent sized portions and very tasty. I also ordered a side of cauliflower cheese which was lovely. But the gravy portion was just too small.

At no point during my visit did anybody come over and ask how my meal was, or if I needed anything else (would have liked to ask for more gravy), in fact, at one point someone came to take the empty side plate for the cauliflower cheese, and swiftly left without any actual communication.

I did see the staff asking others how their food was, so not sure if I was missed as I was a solo diner.

I ordered the sticky toffee pudding for dessert, which was hot, soft and delicious.

Prices are reasonable. I would return, but would hope that the service was...

Had a lovely time at here. We booked inside as it was too hot outside. Really glad we did as there is not a lot of shade outside (!!) we were greeted with a warm welcome on arrival, shown to our table (we actually got to choose ourselves). Drinks ordered by another friendly staff member and shown the menus. On such a hot day we didn't want a main meal and thought we would graze on starters. Boy what a great idea! I can heartily recommend pork and black pudding sausage roll, chorizo scotch egg, triple cooked chips and the warm camonbear (forgive my spelling). The food and accompanying service was wonderful. In fact the food was so good I didn't have time to take photos as it was demolished in minutes. 3 of us spent an afternoon there with wine and spirits in an unhurried environment totally stuffed and well watered for £30/head well worth it. I took pictures of the menu as the only thing left :)

My partner and I had a pleasant experience at this charming pub located on a smart street in East London. The staff truly stood out with their friendly and accommodating nature. Every member of the team was not only nice but also genuinely pleasant to interact with. Despite arriving before the official opening time, they were willing to give us a seat and made us feel welcome. The kitchen was still closed for service but the staff went above and beyond by arranging for the chef to rustle up a meal for us. It was a remarkable display of exceptional customer service. Furthermore, I was thoroughly impressed by the pub's elegant decor. The interior was tastefully designed, a perfect combination of style and comfort, making it a delightful space to relax . I will undoubtedly be returning to this establishment.

Lovely spot for a cosy drink and bite to eat with a flexibility for accepting bookings. Food was nice, would have liked a few more potatoes with my roast… and staff didn’t really take our order as expected i.e. in one go? We ordered sides with our mains and then 30 minutes later we were told they didn’t have the sides we’d ordered.. we were asked if we’d like chips instead which we agreed to. However these never arrived (we were there for an hour after this). It was then disappointing to see the missing items appear on our bill however this was quickly sorted once we raised the point. If you can get a table it is a nice place to watch the rugby or for a Sunday roast if you’re in the area.
