We went for the half price Friday lunch and really enjoyed it. I had the spinach and ricotta malfatti (small) portion, while he had a Barnsley lamb chop and aubergine with zaatar. Both excellent. The beefheart tomato salad was good but uninspired, the chips were a small but tasty portion. Our desserts were a delicious Snickers ice cream and a disappointing Tarte tatin. The total was £34. We were pleasantly surprised by lovely food and the pub lost some points because the atmosphere was bland and decor shabby. Service was very good. We booked again, this time for Sunday roast.

Classy gastropub with high quality food and professional service. It’s a relatively new pub (opened in 2018) by Tom Oldroyd (previously chef-director of Polpo and also owner of Oldroyd restaurant in Islington). This cosy neighbourhood pub offers French food made from British ingredients, and a good selection of cocktails, beers and wine. There is also an outside area which catches the afternoon sun and is great for summer evening drinks and snacks. It’s not cheap to eat here but is probably a good value for the quality of food and service you receive.

We had such a lovely experience for our Sunday Roast at the Duke of Richmond. The food was absolutely delicious and service was even better - especially considering how busy they were. We decided to get the ‘All the Roasts’ and the Pork so that we could try them all and they were all delicious, though the lamb was the standout (and definitely get the bread sauce too!). Potatoes were the best pub roast potatoes we have ever had. Thank you, we will be back!! :)

AVOID IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES OR INTOLERANCE: SERIOUS RISK

AVOID if you have any type of allergy or intolerance. There is a serious training issue. Even when I questioned multiple times that my drink was the wrong colour it was confirmed many times that I had the correct drink. If they have issues training on something as important as allergies then it begs the question where else have the cut corners.

Particularly angry because you can expect some level of cross contamination with food but to be served a drink incorrectly despite multiple checks is awful.

Not suitable for gluten allergy gluten intolerance dairy allergy or dairy intolerance

I've been coming here for drinks for a while. Cocktails are a bit of a treat, it is a bit pricey for drinks but was always nice. Table service. Not the best outdoor space but a nice restaurant/pub

Came in yesterday and ordered a gluten free pint. Reiterated to the server many times which beer. My friend ordered a pint of larger. The drinks arrived the gluten free IPA looked very pale we assumed I had her larger and we questioned it.

Asked if I definitely had the gluten free and he confirmed. Her larger was an IPA, she sent it back. They exchanged it so again I questioned my drink as it was lighter than her larger and confirmed again it was the gluten free. It didn't taste right and the colour just wasn't but because it had been confirmed on multiple occasions by the server. I left it as the glass was right and had asked so many times he wasn't going to answer any differently.

We ordered a half before leaving when my ipa turned up it was indeed a different colour at this point I questioned the new server (manager on duty) and it was confirmed that I had been served an alcohol free beer. Containing gluten

She handled it well, was polite but kept saying that "I can assure you it's very low alcohol". Yes love so is a chicken nugget. (Her reasoning was that they might have used hops or barley during the process, but didn't seem to understand the gluten issue that had just occurred and beer generally has never been gluten free until recently)

She took my number and said someone would call later today, which is nice but it doesn't fix the problem I am now sick. She apologised for the staff member as it was his second day. There is clearly a huge training issue here, if it was his second day it makes it almost worse as he had a whole day on Tuesday to potentially make someone very sick. Luckily my allergy doesn't cause any reactions such as anaphylaxis but am now sick.

When we arrived my friend and I were the only people in, literally two of us. If he wasn't fully trained he shouldn't have been unsupervised. This now leads me to question how well trained the rest of the staff are or how seriously they take allergies and intolerances if it wasn't important enough to train the staff. I have never eaten here as I have a quite severe gluten issue as well as dairy.

This is my second issue at this pub in a week. Last Friday less than a week before this incident I went with my friend for a few drinks, a friend of ours joined us and she had a half before leaving. We watched her pay the bill. When our bill arrived we were charged for her drink, but because it was impossible to get the attention of a staff member to raise it, we had to leave.

This pub used to hold it together just enough to overlook the more expensive price point over others in the area with the cocktails. My happy hour cocktail on Friday was quite mediocre even for the £6 price tag. They used to be really good.

The table service has now worked against them being unable to check the pint being pulled or the bill or pay as you go. Seriously...

Unfortunately I had a Sunday roast which I was really looking forward to having eaten previously at the Duke of Richmond and the food being superb. I wasn’t going to bother write a review however I am still fuming that I was left to pay an expensive bill After having complained that the roast beef was so undercooked it was bloody and myself and another member of our party that hadn’t also touched the roast beef, instead of offering some sort Of apology or a replacement meal even some sort of refund, they have basically said oh we are sorry that’s how we cook our beef I have to say I was really disappointed with this. If that’s the case I think they should advertise bloodied roast beef dinner to give you the option to ask for it to be cooked a little more. Also my veg was completely freezing cold so I’m not quite sure why we were also served cold food and it wasn’t heated before being served. We were sat in the corner seated for a table of six near an air vent , therefore I sat with my coat on the whole time it was absolutely freezing ,understaffed so requested for salt and pepper which should’ve been on the table to which took ten minutes to be brought over. And I have to say I was looking forward to a desert as I was still left starving after eating cold vegetables , this was no better it was just some cooked apples tossed in oats with hardly any crumble and the minimalist amount of cream that I had to request...

Hugely disappointing experience at the Duke of Richmond. Probably the worst meal I've had in London and I have lived here for 8 years. Service extremely slow and cold AWFUL inedible food, bathrooms had no toilet paper. Ordered the chicken dish - what arrived was a plate with two anaemic looking pieces of chicken - a tiny drumstick and a tiny half thigh - two small roast potatoes and some corn, with one (literally) wizened salad leaf and no sauce. With the quality and portion size, it looked like a school canteen lunch for a six year old. For the same price, we could have had a full roast dinner in any pub in London. Chicken arrived completely cold and so we sent it back - waitress seemed indifferent. What then arrived was an even smaller portion of chicken which was so overcooked and dry it was genuinely hard to eat. We tried to voice our disappointment with staff but they clearly did not care - interrupted me mid-sentence with a limp "sorry," then brought the card machine for us to pay!! There is so much choice in the area we were kicking ourselves for having come...
