So have been regular to this pub for years and never had and issue with either staff ,service or food until today Had food and drink and in usual way went to the bar to the refund for parking Presented the ticket and first thing from the white guy who claim to be a manager wearing blue shirt (as he refused to give his name)you need to spend 5 pounds to get the refund .I replied I have ordered the food from App .then says which table number I was sitting which i given him and then further question what I have eaten on that point I was Surprised how many Questions I need to answer to get a 2 pounds refund .then after line of questioning I was given the refund.I then came back to the pub and asked to speak to the manager and I spoke to manager called Kelly and explain why I was upset and i felt I was stereotyped as I am Asian I must be lying .then the white manager came and spoke to me .I told him his line of questioning was unacceptable and it made me feel small or a lair he said he has right to ask questions and have not done any thing wrong .I said he could just have asked me the proof of payment which i would have shown him instead of insulting in front of people .he insisted that he was right and walked off.he refused his name and said i complaint as much as like. In 2023 people with prejudice like him should not working public facing roles Weather spoon if you like people of all races to use your pub then you must train your manager on diversity.if you cannot do that please say on the door people of my race or Color are not welcomed in your pub .as surely your manager has embarrassed me a paying customer in front of people and only they way I looked .I did gave him the chance to apologise...
Read moreArrived in this place about 1830 on Tuesday 27 August. Imagine my surprise when, at about 1900, I heard a woman with black hair shouting and screaming. What’s so surprising about this at a Spoons, I hear you cry. Well nothing really…except that this woman was serving behind the bar😬.
Anyway, as the evening wore on, my steak ‘meal’ was delivered (courtesy of that magical realm that is the internet). Alas, this thing (which included a baked potato) arrived without butter. I approached the very same woman at the bar and asked her to provide said item. I was a little sceptical at her response…because she responded immediately (if rather jadedly) and all this without enquiring which table I was sitting at. This did not bode well! Predictably enough, no butter (or anything resembling it) arrived.
TOP TIPS FOR THE OWNER & MANAGEMENT: (1) this woman is a liability & should not be working here (or, arguably anywhere else that involves any given member of the human species). Alternative career advice? Perhaps working in a zoo?); (2) Tim Martin might like to reflect on his unequivocal (& unrelenting 🙄) support for BREXIT: Brexit means that he cannot really replace people like this because so few people in this country want to work in places like this for the wages & conditions on offer. So what’s the solution, Tim??

Read moreI visited the pub last night and wanted to share my experience. While I appreciate the efforts of the manager, who went out of their way to rectify the situation, the attitude of one of the barmen towards us was appalling.
Upon receiving our drinks, ordered through the app, the bartender slammed them onto our table without acknowledging us, and proceeded to storm off. Despite our polite thank-you, his demeanour remained indifferent. The same demeanour persisted when we ordered dessert, with added hostility in his glare.
I reported this to another barman, who was very friendly, and he promptly brought over the manager to our table. The manager was understanding and offered us a complimentary drink as an apology. It was because of these other staff members, along with the pleasant ambiance of the pub itself, that this review isn't a 1 star.
I understand that staff may be tired or having a bad day. However, the level of hostility displayed by this particular bartender was unacceptable. While I don't expect extravagant service at a venue like Wetherspoons, basic courtesy and professionalism should be maintained. It's my hope that this feedback helps in improving the customer service standards, as individuals like him detract from the...
