Full of pretentious folk who still think its 1994 and that punk is well and truly alive!!!! As they sit there on their iphones lol. Decent pool table. Toilets stink and are filthy. No working jukebox. 5 minute wait at the bar. Not because somebody is being served but because the barmaid was busy updating her socials. Shame really as it truly WAS a happening pub back in the 90s. Unfortunately Camdens music scene has been utterly dead since the early 2000s and this in turn has affected the pubs somewhat. If you want to spend half an hour drinking ropey pints (after the 5 min wait) and talking to fake punks then please be my guest. Camden reminds me of that mate who's still there 3 hours after the party had finished. Very sad that it is now a hotbed of foreigners and roadmen. Punk IS dead. And so is Camden. If your a 90s music fan, or an Amy or Pete fan then go to the Hawley or Dublin Castle. At least they are not faking it in those places. Either that or buy a...
Read moreI'm sure this is a lovely music venue. But during the day on Sunday when I was having a drink with my friend, me and about 10 other people witnessed a little goblin of a man steal a ladies freshly poured cider and run off with it while she was in the toilet. She went in to get another and came out dejected as the bar maid said she had to pay for another one. I've worked in pubs for about 20 years now and I find that kind of behaviour appalling. It is nobody's fault except the man that this lady's drink got stolen...but it is good citizenship and ethical as a business to replace the drink for free. I walked in to ask the barmaid why she didn't replace the woman's drink and her response was that she has a business to run and it's not her problem. What a response. One Rekorderlig ain't going to cost you the moon my dear but you've now earned yourself a bad review. I bought the lady a drink to right the situation but paying £5.90 to this place leaves a bad taste...
Read moreThe Good Mixer is hands down one of the best pubs in Camden—steeped in music history and oozing authentic charm. Walking in feels like stepping into the heyday of Britpop, with walls adorned with memorabilia of legends like Oasis, Blur, and Amy Winehouse, who was a regular here . The atmosphere is electric, blending the grit of old-school Camden with a welcoming, lively crowd.
What makes this place special? Free live music multiple nights a week, a killer jukebox, and a pool table that’s seen its fair share of rock ‘n’ roll antics . The staff are friendly, the beer selection is solid, and the outdoor seating is perfect for people-watching. Even after reopening post-Covid, it’s retained its soul—no small feat in a city losing its indie pubs to gentrification .
If you want a proper London boozer with stories to tell, The Good Mixer is it. Pray it stays forever—we need more places like this. A...
