Visited for Lunch - Classic The Grill can never go wrong. Quality food well priced.
Halal Status: 100% HALAL HMC CERTIFIED
Service: Very friendly staff quick service and owner gave us some complimentry tea also.
Atmosphere: Calm quiet nice atmosphere. Very clean resturant.
Ordered: Chicken Gujons, Chilli Peppers, The Blazing Crunch, Steakhouse Chips
Chilli peppers - 5/5. Never fail me from here i've been visiting the grill for a number of years and these are always the same and very tasty. Highly recommend!
Chicken Gujons - 5/5 fresh fried battered chicken with a lightly seasoned mayonaise. Very nice again would recommend.
The Blazing Crunch - 4/5 - Quality burger in a nice brioche bun with some lettuce cheese and nachos. Only thing id say is I'd like some more sauce inside. An option of a mexican spicy or non spicy sauce would take the burger to the next level. Also dont order the chicken gujons id say if you get this burger as the gujon strips are the same pieces used in the burger. Unless your a huge fan of fried chicken!
Steakhouse Chips - 4/5 - I usually really like the steakhouse chips but they were a little underdone for my liking but I didnt mind as they were still thoroughly cooked.
Mint tea - 5/5 very nice fresh mint tea served by the owner, much needed after a very heavy lunch!
Overall:
Top quality food from The Grill and consistent always has never let me down and I've always left leaving full and happy. Very nice staff and accomadating always.
FLAVOUR SCORE: A tasty 4.5/5 that extra sauce in the burger would get the scorching rating!
Would I visit again?
I would definately visit again and highly recommend The Grill to anyone looking for a good quality well...
Read more2.5/5 I recently visited The Grill and, while the atmosphere was nice, the food and service left me with mixed feelings.
I ordered a medium-rare steak, but it came out inconsistent – some areas were well-done, others closer to medium-rare. On top of that, it was surprisingly tough to cut, which made me question whether it was down to the steak itself or the knives provided.
Service-wise, there were no waiters or waitresses taking orders. Instead, we were told to order through their website. While it worked, it felt unnecessary and even asked for too much information just to place a simple table order – not exactly convenient.
When the food arrived, things got even more confusing. My friend ordered a 16oz steak, and I ordered a 12oz. We were both brought 12oz steaks, only for the staff to come back later and say, “We made a mistake, we’ll give you the other pieces of the steak.” That was puzzling – why would a steak come in separate pieces? To add to that, another friend ordered wings for around £4–5, and only got three small pieces, which felt underwhelming for the price.
I also tried the ribs for a starter, but they didn’t impress me either. The menu does have variety – things like curry that might be worth trying – but based on my experience with the steak and ribs, the quality didn’t match the price.
That being said, the atmosphere of the place was enjoyable, and I could see why some people might come here for the vibe. But overall, I can’t say the food was up to par. My honest rating is a 3/5 – not terrible, but not somewhere I’d be quick to...
Read moreWe popped into The Grill Stratford and honestly, it did not disappoint!
For starters, we had the black tiger prawns and the mac & cheese — the prawns were juicy and well-seasoned, but the mac & cheese stole the show. It was so cheesy with that perfect cheese pull that makes you want to dive straight back in.
For mains, we went big with the Mega Feast — half frango, lamb chops, wings, spicy chicken sausages, grilled chicken strips and two sides (we went for regular fries and sweet potato fries). Every single element was cooked to perfection. The lamb chops were tender and full of flavour, the chicken was juicy with a nice kick, and the sides were fresh and crispy. We did order “medium” spice but be warned — it leans towards the hotter side if you’re not a big spice lover. Still, the flavours more than made up for it.
To drink, I had the Pina Colada — easily one of the best I’ve had in the UK! Creamy, refreshing, and it even came topped with real cream which gave it that extra indulgence. We also tried the Blue Ice Bubbles — a super refreshing boba soda with blueberry bubbles, mint and lime. Sweet, fizzy, and so fun to drink.
Special mention to Rahul (our server) — friendly, attentive, and genuinely made the whole experience even better.
💡 Overall: Delicious food, great atmosphere, and brilliant service. It’s definitely on the spicier side if you’re not used to heat, but everything was cooked beautifully. I’ll 100% be coming back — and it’s local too, which is even...
