We booked two rooms at The Baytree Hotel through Booking.com site - one room for my husband and I and another room for my Two daughters (aged 26yrs & 18yrs) ||We arrived to this hotel on 09/07/2022. This is a very rundown filthy hotel. ||Both rooms were filthy with dirty bed sheets, dirt all around window boards, filthy carpet, TV hanging loosely from wall. ||The toilet/shower in each room was a very small space with filthy and some chipped/broken floor tiles. ||Both rooms were extremely warm due to a hot sunny day and there was no air conditioning or electric fan available. There was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke through the hotel and in the rooms. Also the room doors were self closing but closed very hard and quick which three of us hurt our arms/shoulders off same. We was very dissatisfied and brought this to the attention to the lady at reception. She offer two other rooms and they were just as bad. We also found out by a couple of taxi drivers that the area this hotel is located is a very rough and dangerous place. We were warned not to walk outside after dark and to get a taxi to and from the hotel. ||We had a horrible experience overall and were not happy in anyway to continue with our stay which we decided to go to another hotel. ||This was a huge inconvenience for us as we had to arrange travel to another hotel and it cost us a lot more money to stay elsewhere plus delayed our day in which we nearly missed a show in the West End. ||We did get a refund from The Baytree Hotel but we feel that this hotel should not be advertised with any hotel site as it’s not fit or safe for people to stay in. ||Infact it should be demolished. I wouldn’t put my dog in...
Read moreThe hotel had nice facilities and even better service. The breakfast was very good and more than enough, the room had clean sheets, air conditioning working well, had LCD TV with local channels and they made an effort to keep the room clean most of the time. It didn't had a restaurant inside to eat at night, but it has a convenience store next to it and a couple of blocks in the same street there's an indian fast food delivery, so if needed you could just walk outside and get something.
The location is far from the center of London, it's like a hotel inside a neighborhood, but it was secure and also there is a bus stop in the corner that takes you to the train station very quickly. Also from the stratford station you can go to any train line and get back from any line without complications, and the trains are the most new and comfortable I believe in the whole Underground train service. We used Underground and DLR and had no problems getting back to Stratford.
Next to the train station are the olympic villas and also there's the Stratford Centre where you can do some flea market shopping and bargain hunting, and next to it there's a huge mall for more upper-class shopping if you want to spend an afternoon without going to central London.
Great place to be; will...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I have stayed at this hotel last May at the occasion of a visit we paid to my family. Unfortunately they could not offer a place to crash for two and we took this hotel as this was the closest. Long story short, I woke up in the middle of the night to an itching sensation which I thought might be an allergic reaction to something as I have never had experience with bedbugs and would not have come to this idea so I went back to sleep. In the morning I woke up with a bunch of bites on my arm and shoulders, only then it occurred to us that these are bedbug bites. We have complained at the reception (The guy at the hotel seemed very apologetic and was not surprised at all). He offered a refund, provided that we call booking.com (through which we booked) and apply for a refund. The refund was accepted by booking.com but the hotel never refunded the money! Three weeks later I woke up in my own bed to a bedbug having a feast on me!!! I have paid EUR 600 for exterminators and and the hotel is still refusing to do anything about it!!! In fact, they are trying feed me with the bull* that it might have been a mosquito (early May with 10C degrees).. I cannot sleep properly ever since and am feeling paranoid in my own home, thanks...
