Don’t recommend this place to anyone sadly. They Ruined our work Xmas party without a care in the world. We all travelled quite far to attend here and were left in utter disbelief having had to endure condescending comments and remarks from the manager when simply enquiring about the quiz and its charge. We politely asked as we booked online and there was no mention of a cost for the quiz but we see one now not sure if we’re covered for it having booked online, the manager abruptly replied ‘the quiz doesn’t pay for itself!’ And ‘noone else has a problem with the cost’ again shocked as at no point are we refuting to pay just that it should have been stated on the website we booked on, so simply apologising for the oversight would have been more than enough. Once the quiz started the sound was deafening, the mic was splitting all night and we couldn’t hear the questions properly and had to ask the quiz master to come over and read each one off the mic separately. They confirmed they were having sound issues all night but it was extremely hard to take part in the quiz. Eventually I decided to call the manager back to explain that he was unnecessarily rude earlier, he said he wasn’t and he was simply trying to understand the issue. We said, if that’s the case why was the first thing you said to us ‘the quiz doesn’t pay for itself’ to which he replied ‘I didn’t say that’ and my only male white colleague on the table confirmed yes u did! Now I make a reference to gender and ethnicity because I can’t think of any other reason he thought it was okay to belittle us from the offset. He never once apologised for our experience, the way we were treated or even the sound quality. He displayed an, it is what it is attitude. His preemptive rudeness from the offset and unaccountability was disgraceful. We are wholeheartedly understanding people, but the way we were treated tonight was beyond despicable. We were so disappointed we stopped playing the quiz even though we were doing well scoring 38/40 at halfway point. Honestly what we experienced tonight whether it was because I was a female speaking up or whether it was because we were a 99% ethnic group we will never know for sure, but we left feeling incredibly disheartened and unwelcome.

Really great, pizza. Possibly the best arancini I've ever had (even over Sicily). But the really great thing about this place is the vibe and staff. We got served for Thursday lunch by a super friendly waitress, with blonde hair tied back in a messy bun (sorry I didn't catch your name but you were great!) and the time before that a really great barman. They obviously recruit well here. The strawberry and lime cider was the most effort I've ever seen putting into serving that drink. Our pizza took a little while because of a huge order in front of us. But not so long we would have complained (and we didn't) but they gave us free arancini anyway. Can't say enough good things about the place. New to the area and had been very excited to visit here. So happy it surpassed all expectations! Also to add the waitress sanitised her hands each and every time before picking up food. Even when the last visit was to the same table - I hope she has good hand moisturiser :).

So went on a Tues evening with friends as I have not been to the Hawks Nest since they remodelled and put in a glass roof. The place looks great.

I came to this place when they first opened in July 2020, it was my first pint out of lockdown.

The place looks great......................but................things have changed.

First, you always have to order via QR code on tables, the app was difficult to navigate. I ended up buying a glass of wine and skipped my beer, so had to reorder.

So the wine came quickly but the beer took 12 minutes? OH, and they automatically add a 10 percent service charge? Unable to remove from online ordering.

The beer selection was very limited, could not find a draft pale ale.......dissappointed

The pizza was a dissapointment, had the chorizo with spice honey, no spice to honey and was very sloppy to eat.....

My friend ordered two pizza's, only one came, we flagged down the manager (very nice lady) and she went in search of the order, it was missed (how? it is all online?) but eventually it came.

We were very kindly offered a round of drinks and it was appreciated.

I still love this place, the tables and benches could use to be replaced with something more comfortable. Think German beer garden tables (wobbly and yes I spilled my beer) and long benches.

Hats off to Will/Fraser for getting this place to where it is now but some attention should be paid to the ordering app, the number of bar staff serving and remove the service charge. If I'm doing everything but pouring and walking to the bar to get my drink, seems unfair.

Harsh I know!

This is my five star review from July 2020........................... "So refreshing to find a pop up pub in Shepherds bush with great pizza, good tunes and wonderful staff.

This place just opened, lots of outdoor seating, the pizza is thin crust cooked in a proper pizza oven.

Beers on draft, Camden Hells/Pale Ale. My favourite.

Tip the staff, they have been unemployed for months, lets share...

Visited last night with friends for the first time. Initially, the venue seemed decent. We arrived to an empty table cluttered with finished drinks, but the staff quickly cleared them. Ordering through the QR code was smooth, and our drinks arrived promptly. At one point, a server accidentally dropped glasses and bottles on one of my friends, which shattered. They apologised with a couple of beers, which we appreciated. However, the toilets were quite grim.

2 of decided to play pool, and just as we started, the doorman approached, telling us to finish as it was closing time. We agreed. But just a minute later, he returned, aggressively waving his finger in our faces and acting intimidating. We calmly told him there was no need for aggression and that we were leaving, but he continued being defensive, even claiming, "Trust me, I’m not being aggressive," and continued trying to intimidate us by stepping into our space and which felt more like a veiled threat. His behaviour was pathetic but yet comical. At that point, there were still 50-60 people in the bar.

On our way out, I mentioned the situation to another staff member, who falsely claimed he had asked us to leave three times. I tried finding a manager to report the bouncer’s behavior, but the staff all looked quite young and inexperienced. My friend, who has anxiety, was visibly shaken by the incident.

It’s a shame the bouncer ruined what could have been a great night. His aggressive attitude and lack of professionalism were unacceptable. We won’t...
