The Joint — Restaurant in London

I had a terrible experience with the owner of this place. Let me make something clear: I was happy with the service I received from the supervisor, she was great. The food also was ok, as a group, we gave it 6/10 as we did not have high expectations from a restaurant next to a crazy golf. I called the restaurant in advance and mentioned about my plan to purchase and eat food there, then celebrate a birthday. However, when the time came to light the candles and cut the cake, we were informed that we it is “the policy” of the restaurant to not accept cake from outside. However, we were allowed to cut it as a favour. When I asked the supervisor about lighting the candles, she said it was not possible. When I approached the owner to try to resolve the issue with him, he manipulated each word to translate it into something completely different. For him, we had to be grateful as he allowed us to cut the cake and we did not deserve to complain about anything else. He refused to give me his name, when I said I will be posting a review online. He said “you had a nice experience playing golf, then you ate, and we even gave you plates for the cake”. He minimised everything I said to him and completely gaslighted me. Poor customer service from the owner is an under statement. Maybe it was the case because of our colour? I will be interested to see how he responds to...

Well overstaffed yet they're all standing around doing nothing on their phones. On two occasions they didn't know what wine they had in the fridge other than "white". They apparently ran out of coffee beans again yet two staff used the machine for themselves. Music seems to be on repeat every 30mins or so. Food is reasonable but beer served in plastic cups even inside, even after requesting glass. Nice and warm. TV's on showing sport. Dog friendly but no one told the security guard their rules.

Overall it has potential and could be miles better but someone needs to GAF and show some...

One of THE worst restaurants I've ever been to!! They ask us to make a reservation, we arrived and they made us wait around while others after us are seated, they sent us to the rooftop and made us wait around even more, no staff to talk to. They sent us back downstairs on the terrace. Their strawberry & vodka cocktail is atrocious, the food is bland, average and dry, the manager or whatever she does has terrible customer service. The only highlights of the evening were getting free shots for making wait around and my one of us enjoyed their food. Other than that, I wouldn't go back...
